If it helps, I run a dual-monitor setup on my 9800XT. If I run it windowed on my first screen it runs fine, however dragging it across to the other screen drops it to around 1fps. If I go to graphics in the escape menu of eve and under the graphic...

Just a quick note to say anyone considering using VMWare to play Eve under Linux is out of luck. I tried that one the other day and failed since VMWare doesn't bridge/emulate any 3D acceleration. Also, the WineX CVS won't run Eve past the splash ...

At that sort of expense it'd probably be better to leave eve running on your home machine at a low res, and VNC to it (www.tightvnc.org is extremely bandwidth-efficient at low quality!). I wouldn't recommend trying to fly over it, but it's perfect...
