I think that the models being similar to the very high-end gundam models from Japan will make them the most meaningful to own. I would feel much more attached to a high quality model that I invested time and effort in to assembled and paint myself...

So the gist is that you get a discount if you get an alt for yourself. CCP doesn't mind people creating alts. More money for them. I don't agree with it, but that's how they want to make money, I guess.
