The infrared and radio range penalty should be switched back so that radio still has the best range. This is due to people having a stockpile of BPs and crystals already, and don't want to invest in another BP just because a crystal changed.

Defenders need to be fired 20-15km from the incoming missile to actually do anything. At this range, you do not even need to face the incoming missile. If the defender leaves the launcher while the incoming missile is closer than 10km, then forget...

If you read carefully what Morkt wrote, he said that ECM Multispectrals work on NPC pirates, and I can confirm that. All other jamming devices are useless, though.

Use 4 ECM Multispectrals (uses cap like there's no tomorrow, get a Scorpion to run them) or 3 of the specialized jammers that use far less cap and gives -6 per module to whichever race you decide to jam. Can be run on a blackbird or similar cruise...
