Situational awareness, a scanner and proper use of intel channels. It might be worth noting that ECCM reduces the chance to get scanned down (people tend to overlook that one) but really, if you rely on that, you're screwed already.

I have no clue what ferrofluid is, but unless it works like a tattoo or it's altering your DNA you can just wait til its gone Well, technically thats removing skin layers, but a lot less painful. Oh and boost the burst!

Look at the variations tab. All the meta t1 crap drops in missions. No t2 or faction. Hit the "compare" button, tick "meta level". Rule of thumb: higher meta level = more expensive. Now do your homework yourself
