Just remove names from the overview and get rid of targetting broadcasts all together. Reducing focus fire is one way to reduce effectiveness of the blob, there needs to be more but it would be a good start.

I have never understood why people say shoot the drones. Unless you can't hit the target ship at all you seem to be much better off getting the ship down as the drones (especially large ones) have a lot of hitpoints
