3. Client Takes 2 Min to Open The First Time (Then fine until restart) - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
If you had ran the rescache.exe, then you already know the bazillion files* the EVE resources have been split into - post Scylla. 5 things you have to keep in mind that can contribute to the issue : 1) Cache files fragmentation, only applies if c...

4. Moving EVE to new PC - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
OP you're not fully grasping what had been written. Post Scylla, the EVE install was separated into 2 parts : 1) Core executables - typical default path "c:\program file\ccp\eve" 2) Shared cache resources - typical default path "c:\programdata\c...

5. Moving EVE to new PC - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Should still be unchanged (though I haven't tested it). What CCP basically did was mutate the EVE program into a core executables and offload all the resource files into the shared cache. Just copy the entire CCP folder as before. P.S. It might t...

I'm not seeing a lot positives (from the client perspective) for the Scylla download-demand (DoD) feature CCP. 1) 61,195 files in 285 folders. Most of these files are itsy-bitsy bit files, some smaller than the default cluster size. Have your t...

7. Archon BPC part counts messed up. HELP! - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Thats just a UI update glitch. It doesn't update properly when you compare different BPCs in succession. Plenty of other UI glitches/issues here and there as well, getting worse with these updates. Just bug report it.

You only get that "New Build Available" if you fire up the client directly from the exefile under \bin on patch day. Run/update/fix your launcheror try repair.

The launcher runs several functions (from update checks, passwd hashing, client checksum checks, and automated error logging) over SSL (port 443) and connects to multiple servers for those functions. It's also a mini web browser that can deal targ...

Definite bingo on port 3724 and that more or less confirmed my suspicion on a CCP client NAT (burrowing) issue. Thanks. The _root_ problem is highly unlikely a carrier issue, because if it is, I'd be hearing a collective uproar coming from my side...

Yeah, they re-routed through *vrsn.net (Verisign), presumably after that 15th Mar extended DT. Packet loss is even worse than what was (*.telia.net) previously.

To those having PERSISTENT socket issues, attempt a VPN tunnel connection. You need to re-route your packets via a different network . It doesn't come without costs however (from extra TCP overheads), but at least you can login and do stuffs. Tem...
