okay now heres a few ideas... its not to completely revamp a system but it may be even better. okay first off when things get repetative they get boring so doing the same agent missions or farming the same npc belt.... what we need is short quick...

just for roleplaying we could say that concord has received threats from an unknown faction that they can and will destroy heavily used gates and isolate "vuenrable" (sp) systems that are not yet self sufficent.
