1. Once again, patch doesn't patch, full client install required - in Macintosh [original thread]
The patch takes forever. this is easily the slowest updater I've ever seen. Installing an OSX update takes lesson this laptop. CCP seem to have outdone Microsoft on a slow installer. If you are scratching your head, wondering if it will finish, op...

2. Laggy Mac desktop while Eve is running - in Macintosh [original thread]
Originally by: Denuo Secus Update. Tested it yesterday. I have a completely normal behaving Mac desktop when not docked at station! But once docked - the lag begins. I also checked my system resources while docked and while in space - as p...

3. Laggy Mac desktop while Eve is running - in Macintosh [original thread]
I had instances of this, especially when I was low on disk space (OSX doesn't like low free space). The mouse kept jumping around, and it wasn't nice. Also, do check that something else cpu-hungry isn't hogging the machine. (Safari w/ Flash in the...

4. I forgot I was on the Mac client today. Excellent performance. - in Macintosh [original thread]
In all fairness, I must point out that the "premium lite" Apocrypha cient feels on par with the previous clients on my Mac in terms of speed, but it looks better. My machine is a 2.5 years old Macbook Pro with only 2gb ram and 128mb ATI x1600 card...

6. Non-premium client for mac? - in Macintosh [original thread]
Originally by: CCP Casqade I'm not feeling the love in this thread. But the question was answered in reply #2. Our relationship has become fractured and weak, and under-woven with the horror that is Cider. We do not need this love trian...

7. Away goes the Premium Client - in Macintosh [original thread]
Originally by: Zelmach We had a wonderful acronym in the Army for moments such as these: BOHICA - Bend Over, Here It Comes Again. It seems that most of the trouble with the mac client comes from the use of cider. Why not just build a custo...

8. Away goes the Premium Client - in Macintosh [original thread]
Originally by: Verite Rendition CCP can't make a Mac client appear any sooner, so your options boil down to waiting or quitting. VeriteRendition, I can see where you're coming from in your attempt to defend CCP, but please do remember ...

9. eve and mac book pro - in Macintosh [original thread]
Short and sweet version: run Eve (via Cider) on Leopard, on a less-capable machine, and you will be getting stacked penalties in performance. There are many implied things in the Mac requirements :( Leopard: the system alone puts more strain on...

10. Eve in unusable - in Macintosh [original thread]
I personally think it's a really bad idea of processor manufacturers to make products that only run cool when they're idle, and the difference in temperature under load is so drastic. I would happily trade 20% performance for ICs that run cooler u...

15. EVE Online: Quantum Rise 1.0.1 has been deployed - 22 November, 2008 - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
I am very happy that the patch notes say various memory leaks were fixed. I find playing Eve on OS X with 2GB ram quite painful, but that's all the computer I have. (Non-mac folk, please do not cast stones at me if you haven't experienced Cider, t...
