It should be here within a couple of hours. Downtime is 7:30am - 9:00am GMT, so I don't think you'd have to wait that long.
It's not like his fears are unfounded, the optimist in me is telling me not to hold my breath

By definition, the window of time you specified has come, and gone, which is to be expected considering the word "should" was used, which is generally a pretty vague word, no better then "maybe", and only slightly better then "no".
All is forgiven

You should wait for a patch to actually be available, as currently, there isn't.
Shocking, I know.

EDIT: Apparently, the new patch doesn't apply to our old mac build. Looks like we're stuck on 83738 because the new patch goes from 83913 -> 83982
Are you saying we're now behind two patches?

Edited by: General Gingerbread on 08/03/2009 19:56:53 I got this error as well:
There are extra files in your EVE client installation. If you've recently applied a patch you may need to restart your computer.
Unknown files found: C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\DirectX\ C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\
How did you remove them?

At this point I'd rather have mac support dropped completely, as oppose to not know what the **** is going on.

Originally by: Ami Nia i managed to get it working, but have no time to report now: am 20 minutes late and must RUN.
Will try to post a longer story ASAP.
For the more "adept" people:
1) there's a patch named and located as a TQ to SiSi 83982. But it actually patches to a broken 83913.
2) from there (it MAY work with the incrementally patched and broken 83913 if you have the old retired incremental patch, but i tried with the version I got from the direct patch as in point 1) you can apply the 83913 to 83982 incremental patch (named and located as usual).
3) you'll get a broken client that complains of two extra directories (as reporteda above). Delete them.
4) be carefull that this broken cline (both 83913 and 83982) point to the TQ standard folder, so backup your preferences OR edit the info.plist as for a multiboxed installation
5) run the client. It will try to go to TQ and err. Exit and do the "server=whatever" trick.
This worked for me. Will post a more detailed analisis of this mess ASAP.
I'd be interested in how you delete them, as I cannot even find them.

If you show the package contents, you can then navigate to Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE/bin and the two directories are sitting in there.
I am now just trying to figure what I am doing wrong with changing the server I am trying to connect to, as apparently addind those two lines to the info.plist file isn't doing it for me.
Hmm, think I got it

Alright, deleted to the two things, and added the line to that file, still points to TQ though.

Also, I did what the wiki said.

Originally by: Staticslash Edited by: Staticslash on 16/03/2009 12:42:27 now what ? Sisi was working recently, being the same as TQ edition, and now there is a new patch for Sisi that is corrupt through auto patch, and non existent on this web site... eh ...
There was an unexpected error while retrieving patch status:
Unable to download file o2/test/mac/evepremiumpatch84244-84609_test-mac.tgz from the server. Error: url //ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/mac/evepremiumpatch84244-84609_test-mac.tgz not found
Do you want to go to support page?
Don't worry about it, sometime in the next few weeks, there will be a patch available
