Hi CCP, please give us an update for an ETA for a Sisi capable Mac client? If it is not imminent then please say so.
Thanks!

Hi Darkwing Dan,
I understand your frustration on this. But since we cannot promise a delivery for an estimated date, because it is an estimation, we rather keep the estimate to ourselves until it is ready. We will however let you all know when as soon as possible when it is ready.

I'll reply here when I have the builds.

As I said earlier I was hoping to be able to give you the SISI client today, but we're still working on it. I'll have more information about this tomorrow.

Casqade (See? He's not dead!) pointed out in this thread that we're having a few problems getting the Mac Singularity client ready. It is being worked on and we should have something ready for download later on today.
I do hope the above doesn't warp you back under your CCP terror rock of silence. That is absolutely not my intention. Please * do * keep us informed. Just don't mix messages like mixing the above with 'we hope tomorrow' with 'we cannot promise a delivery' stuff.
Just tell us that every bug you fix on Sisi for the PC client raises new challenges for the Mac client, which in sort could mean that the Mac client will always be behind the PC client, so putting much time in fixing the Mac client will be a waste until most PC client bugs are fixed and then you can fine tune the Mac client accordingly.

Going by the info we've been given so far, I honestly can't see a great improvement happening with the Mac client for the March 10 expansion. I guess I'll have to pollute my Mac wit a Bootcamp partition
I'm not blaming CCP for all of this, it could also be a holdup with Transgaming, who knows

Did the Boot Camp thing this weekend. Found out my MBP only supports the 32 bit version of Vista but now its up and running after 71 software updates from Microsoft. Seriously, consolidated updaters! Now I just need to install EVE and Ventrilo and recreate all my settings.
This is not my preferred means of operating but its cheaper than buying a separate PC just for gaming.

The above is an excellent example of us truly believing in something which didn't end up becoming reality. We were hoping to give you the client we wanted to deliver, but that turned out not to be the case, so we kept it to ourselves for a longer time. If I keep making the "Hoping for tomorrow!" you'll probably become even more frustrated than if I would just say that we cannot promise a release date at this point so we're going to go with "Soon" and "when it is ready" until we can.

After a long wait, SiSi patch is finally released. For a few lucky ones that managed to download and test it in the few hours it was up.
Then nothing.
I must have checked the forums like 20 times a day since friday, hoping for an update. ;(

What? When? We had a Mac Premium beta release (not a patch) out for several days (not few hours). This was BEFORE the deployment of Apocrypha (or Apocrhibba ) on SiSi.
But I'm not aware of ANY publishing of a Mac client for the Apocrypha beta. Nor I'm aware of any Mac patch for SiSi since January 2.

'CCP terror rock of silence' = when you guys go silent on us again. (Like large parts of 2008)
Edit: for me I rather hear/ read 'sorry guys it's not going to happen today or tomorrow and we don't have any eta as of now', then nothing at all.
It's the stress you know, I can only swallow *this* much of tranquilizers before I'm unable to play EVE at all.

What could possibly be so bad about the client? Is it broken? Well it's a beta. It's meant to break!

Does it have to be a dev from eve and does it have to be an accurate eta?

I think the reason some of us are getting concerned is that patch day isn't far from now and without a Mac Sisi client that doesn't give us much time to hunt for bugs, which makes us very worried there won't be a working mac client on patch day.

I hope that we have a working client M10.
I saw the premium client working at MacWorld in SF. It was awesome! But the fact that we don't have a working beta so close to the release means to me we either may not have a working client at all M10 or it may work but it will have lots of bugs...

The premium client itself works. I beta tested it for a while. Currently though, the premium client has been cut off from SiSi, as they have been updating it with the Apocrypha expansion and getting it up to snuff for it to use one M10. Hopefully they'll have it ready for us to test out before the 10th, but if not, I'm going to expect a very rough first week or so of the new expansion for Mac users, just because they're discontinuing the classic client, and we'll have to use new Premium Lite client.

Its very much like what happened to us over in the linux section after "we'll have an update on the status later today" in august 08, and not another peep until "Oh sorry linux folks yer outta here" in January 09.
You know, THAT terror of rock silence?
Or is that some other flavor of silence? hmmm?
Oh by the way, the SISI builds are running under wine "okay", but there are some serious issues with map gfx right now. Windows users are having issues with similar stuff for the most part as the wine users, but the map may be an issue that we've seen before. (pre-trinity wine and eve didn't like each other when it came to the map either.)
