it's an idiom. you can try and redefine the language you're mauling all you like by spouting nonsense and then trying to justify it, doesn't mean you're not still wrong.

I have to ask, why oh why does everybody post in this thread if they hate this Cat o'Ninetails so much. Is there anything wrong with a newbie alleviating the boredom of waiting for the SP meter to tick upwards by taking on pirates - even if that's merely by annoying them?
If it makes Rancer less fun to gatecamp, I'm all for it. (Especially if it involves stealing loot and making ISK off it!)
