Edited by: Bimjo on 21/02/2009 10:09:09 Edited by: Bimjo on 21/02/2009 10:08:48 I use windows explorer,so this is for that : create test folder find EVE's current directory(The one for Tranquillity) highlight one file by clicking on any file in it Ctrl-A will then highlight all files and folders Right click any highlighted file Copy find test folder right click test folder name or test folder contents section(empty currently) Paste find the EVE.EXE file, right click and drag to desktop choose add shortcut, now you have an icon fo SiSi now find and patch the correct SiSi files to this new folder ====================

even simpler, find the eve tranquillity folder, make sure the folder is on the right hand pane of explorer left click and drag it to below ,any white space,a copy of the folder will now be made, just rename new folder to what you want ====================

OK I've done that
And I've made the change to the shortcut by adding /server:87.237.38.50
When I click the shortcut I get the Quantum rise splash screen (Should this happen?) followed by the Apocrypha logon screen (yay).
Singularity is showing as status unknown, @ 10:49am (20 mins after scheduled DT)And I get the usual error message (It's your fault stoopid you forgot your interwebz connection)
So, is the test server down or have I done something wrong ?
Cheers n Beers

Edited by: Camerta on 23/02/2009 09:43:32 You obviously don't use windows if you've never heard of windows explorer. How is anyone supposed to know where you installed the eve client?
Try doing a search for the CCP folder on your hard drive or you can always install a fresh copy into a testserver folder
Try this link for the rest of the instructions

I am having an issue with the test server. I have not been on in a while and it said that it could not find a patch for my build. No big deal, download latest classic build install in my "Eve Online Singularity folder. I created a shortcut from the "eve" icon in the folder and I put the " /server:87.237.38.50 ". Did not work. Server status unknown, but the website says there are 250 online. So I researched and found another part to add to the end of the shortcut " /end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50 " Noe it says "Incompatable release" I checked the client version which is 75883, latest right? I looked for a patch here " http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp?s=singularity " and clicked on classic and tried to find a patch, but I only found a 72263 latest build? I tried the premium patch from 75883, but it will not patch. I am at a loss. I tried downloading the premium version, which my laptop wont play, installed it the same way and patched with the 75883 patch and I got it to load and display server status, but of course I could not login because my V-Card will crash (Tried it). I just know I am missing something small and need another view to help.

Nedstar I am too getting the same problem
Singularity was working fine a couple of weeks ago.
I get either Unknown or incompatable protocol
Then a message comes up and i think it said there is a problem with versions or somthing.
Anyway so i tried the copy and it wont patch and i have also downloaded the full version of classic and it still wont accept patch
Please advise of the location to repair this ccp or can you advise is it because im using classic.
I noticed there will be a premium light soon yet my laptop has shader 2.0
I have noticed my mates who have premium have no probs in getting on so is this a prob with the classic patch??/??
Please help i need to go find a wormhole and pwn it big time :)

If you are trying to patch a Classic graphics client, it will not work. You must be running premium.

If you are taken to TQ you are either using the wrong shortcut or don't have the right shortcut yet. Check 5th post in this thread for information on how to... _

Your C:\Program Files\CCP folder should look like this:
C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE SISI C:\Program Files\CCP\SISI PATCH C:\Program Files\CCP\SISI PATCH BACKUP
Also, I am not quite sure I had the files linked properly. Will be updating them and will post back here when i'm done.

Okay, it has been updated. Please delete your C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE SISI folder and copy your current tranquility folder again. My mistake, I had the wrong patch listed. Test server isn't online yet, so no biggie.
I am also Matt G by the way.

The server is down right now. It went down something like 4-5 hrs ago and hasn't been up yet. Just got to give it time.
Check this link for server status: EVE Offline

hehe ok
step 1 copy your folder to another location
step 2 download the test server patch at patch
step 3 selete the right client your using then download it
step 4 add this patch inside your copy of eve client then run it step 5 click next into it starts to download an install
step 6 load client an enter your password loool then play
You do not need to add any ip address's to the shortcut on desktop it will automatic connect to the testserver because you patch it already
HAVE FUN ^^
hope this works for you . my PC POWNS ALL xD!!! |

Ok, so maybe I am missing something...I have the classic version and copied the folder over. But I went to download the patch and there is not a test server patch for the classic tranquility 75883 build? The latest says that it is 72263?!?!?....should it work without patching it then?

OK I fgured it out
Right all who use "Classic EvE" forget about it. The new expansion doesnt use Classic
So
Go to the download pages and upgrade from classic to premium. This file is about 600 meg.
When the file is downloaded go to your current eve Classic so Right click on start (for XP users) Left click explore go to your c drive locate your program files there you will have CCP or EvE Copy this folder and put it somewhere
So thats your back up done Now run the install of eve classic to premium wait wait God it takes ages lol Ok once its dont it will ask you to launch eve Do it login to eve as normal Now this is the problem. If you have Shader 1.0 it wont work so remember the new expansion only takes 2.0 If you managed to login and can see your spaceship in the hanagr or you pod in space from the last time you tried running from a pirate and crashing your system you will therefore not need a new graphics card or a new laptop. Obviously if this did fail you need to delete your copy of eve and put you saved copy back where you found it and cry alot with the timer going down for March 10th. PS Ill have your stuff if you cant run eve after the 10th
So there you have it the install of premium with basic graphics on eve. NOW!! Singularity
Make a new folder on your C Drive call EvEtest or somthing like that Copy the folder that you backed up originally and place in this folder Run eve classic to premium again but this time change the path using the browser option to your new evetest folder wait wait yes its a big file what do u expect Ok its installed now go into your evetest folder and make a shortcut copy of eve.exe. rename first to EvEtest or singularity and cut and paste onto your dest top Now right click on the new shortcut go to properties and change the path to include at the end /server:87.237.38.50
ok that and run singularity wait in the main screen and dont try to log on at update will apear asking you to install it say yes this will include a smalk 900kb file. When it runs it will ask you to install a 1.4gb file. Install it now go do some shopping. buy pizza entertain the missues (she does need it sometimes) When its back run singularity It will say unknown cos its down alot lately but when its up hey youll love it
Please note I did this method on a laptop running at least shader 2.0 with an onboard chipset. So for all you people out there thinking oMFG what am i to do.
Check your graphics are up to date aswell as your DirectX9
