Too late for the patch, but instead of delaying this one, work on a small patch to fix this problem.
Maybe if the player "CTD", cant you disable the login program for a few mins?   ...i dunno im not a programmer!! ;)
so your saving if the game truly crashed on them. you should also punish them with the loss of a ship?
Thats not the point. The point is that if they are warp scrambled the ship should not warp. And if the game crashes it would not have helped them, they was warp scrambled and about to die.

Are you be certain he logged off the character after he'd been scrambled? Maybe he just quit the client while jumping which afaik does sometimes give the same result (dissapearing and or warping after a while, while being scrambled) unless it's been changed.
I'll have a chat with him and see what he says happened. Are CCP still looking into it ie: is your exploit petition still active?

I don't think it's active. The last reply we got was that they confirm he DID NOT log in a seperate character (but that's not the same as logging into the char selection screen, which logs you out also). The logging while jumping could have happened too or the code might just not have worked they way it is supposed to.
I would just really like to know how exactly it is supposed to work so that we don't get all pi$$y when what is supposed to happen happens.
