Here's the thing. If you have the tank to do a mission solo with your Domi, you aren't going to need MORE tank support from your secondary ship. More tank won't give you more ISK, but more gank will, and with two gank boats, you will need less tank overall (since dead NPC's don't shoot back).
So, I would go with something damage heavy. That could be another Domi (not an afk fit but heavier gank), a Raven variant (torp golem would pair nicely), or a solid dps turret boat (Paladin/Nightmare stand out as the best).
If you have an Amarr agent, I'd consider the Paladin/Nightmare for your alt (in the short term, look to NavyApoc/Abaddon). If you don't want to level up an Amarr agent, or if you want to keep your options open, I'd go for a Golem with t2 torps.
This is the line of thinking I was going down. My Domi can run cap stable with 4 tech 2 hardeners and a pair of tech2 large reppers. Unless I do something seriously wrong that should be plenty of tank. I was looking for something to bring the gank. With my 7.5 mill sp combat guy (Domi pilot is actually an Intaki trade toon with no gunner skills, just drone and tank) I currently have Minnie BS 4 Gallente BS 2 and I am ready to I can train Caldari BS immediately if need be. This guy has better armor tank skills than shield tank, but not by a whole lot. I Also have a smattering of gunnery and missles skills because I tried to crosstrain to fly a Phoon as my first BS. In short, I have the most skills in minnie BS but I get the impression that I would be well served to switch to something else while the difference in training is small.
I am using a level 4 Amarr agent currently, but Amarran vessels are the one race that I have never trained anything for. No lasers, no ships, nothing. A megapulse Abbadon had crossed my mind, but that would be the lengthiest training, and I don't know if I will stay in the area of my Amarr agent. Essentially, I guess I am trying to decide between sticking with my Maelstrom, getting a cruise/torp Raven, getting a Gallente gunboat of some sort(this Brutor guy doesn't have the drone skills to make a Domi worthwhile), or if I should eat the bullet and train an Amarran beam boat.
