Yes ECM works on them, which is all fine and dandy when there's only 1, 2, or 3 sleepers. You get 4 or 5 things get hairy because the sleepers DO switch targets to kill their highest priority and ECM is really damn high on that list.
Add in the fact that they can do enormous amounts of damage and your falcon buddies can be in a world of hurt.

There's challenging game mechanics and then there's frustration inducing, overpowered, "let's turn up the damage and resists so high that the users cry at their keyboards as they lose ships, implants and time" gameplay. The latter is what you saw in the video.
NPCs should have some intelligence. They should give us PvE folks a solid challenge. And according to the devs they should behave more like human players so that PvE fits and tactics will more closely match what you'd experience vs a human in a PvP encounter. I don't necessarily agree with that premise, but ok, fair enough. Now, show me any human controlled ship that can do what these NPCs can do and how they can be countered (short of blobs or cap ship support).
I suspect quite a few of the people cheering for these unbalanced monstrosities now will be crying on Mar. 11 (assuming the patch even gets released on time). |

You do realize those were the uber sleepers that will be found in the deeper parts of wormhole space and not the type that will be found in the wormholes you scan out from empire? So no worries there will be plenty of sleeper encounters that a normal well organized gang or even a really skilled solo player will be able fight with little or no losses. Besides the sleepers in that vid are *****cats compared to the ones that were spawned near planet nine on the test server. The two bs and two cruisers there were nearly instapoping everything they targeted cap ship and lower though the devs did hint that the sleeper missiles might be a tad(*snicker*snicker*) overpowered and would be tweaked down a bit.

Probably, but then again every time they do something with NPC behaviors people cry about it because it's a bit tougher for them to afk their missions or NPC in their sleep. People do adapt to change.
It's cool that you don't agree with the idea of increased challenge and 'realism' in NPC AI routines, but imagine how much more interesting this game would be if the enemy NPCs didn't have a simple "see target, try to eat target's face" mindset. Right now it's no different than smacking around a boar in a WoW newbie zone. In the case of the tougher Sleepers, they're meant to be extremely challenging with nasty tanks and hard hitting weaponry because they're not meant to be solo content. The reward for the players is loot and bits to help make T3 ships, so if you're not interested in that then the Sleepers shouldn't even be of interest to you anyway.

If CCP even think about nerfing these bad ass's down im going to cancel all my 39,990 accounts and there will be just be 1 guy left !!!
But seriosly, They shouldnt tone them down at all from whats shown in this video. This game seriosly lacks challenging content outside of pvp. Theres plenty to do solo in this game, Theres plenty to do in small gangs.
But there is nothing to do that presents a real hardcore bad ass challenge against npcs that actually makes you money to be done by large fleets other than pvp. I think every person cuaght whining about this should be instantly ***** slapped with a trout. This is eve fgs not all them "other games"
Cruelty, Tears and Pain...
Thats why we play

Nice vid, i thought i read somewhere cap ships wont be allowed into wormhole space or am i wrong? All the electrical effects on absolutely everything are horrible they realy need to tone down the effects a bit imo.

So, wormholes are supposed to open to many different uncharted areas from all over the known universe with the possibility of the wormhole you entered in Jita possibly closing and reopening in some deep dark region on 0.0, but they will be different when they are not scanned out in Empire. Yeah you make no sense to me.

So you noticed that the NPC's was remote repping eachothers? Never occured to you that it could have been eaiser to tank them if you had brought a few logistics ship to assist your gang as well? I agree with the ones above who said this seems like a good challenge.
If you want easy rats to kill solo, do missions or normal belt ratting, leave the wormholes to those who can be bothered with setting up a dedicated fleet for it with ships that assist and complement eachothers.
