So, what do you think a Strategic Cruiser is going to cost, say a fully fitted Legion? Half a bil? Billions? Or around BS prices?

500-600m in material cost estimated. Probably around a bil for the first ones.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Well, someone calculated costs around 700Mil (all costs included with just 10M/h) Sleepers are difficult = limited supply = more costs
CCP will only develope T3 further (5th module) if T3 gets used.
Now, you dont have to be a genius to see that this is a downward spiral, costs too high, noone uses them, CCP wont bother to develope them further = T3 will be like BlackOps

Is that guess at all possibly accurate? that seems pretty cheap to me.
Then again it is only a cruiser.

Well, if CCP changes the droprate, its possible (they did it with salvage). I'm more concerned CCP will never touch T3 again like some other little "to tweak after release"-projects.

It's about what they'd be worth to me: twice the price of a T2 cruiser. There are lots of t2 cruisers already, and soon I'll be able to fly 3/4 of them... so it's a question of what can I do in a T3 that I can't do in a T2? Versatility is nice, but it's not worth a billion ISK.

From the videos you need several battleships, if not capital support, few which came back in one piece. And that's just for a little bit of the materials needed to create a single piece of the t3 ships.
to to are not bad estimations.

T3 ships comes attached to 2500(?) new systems. So they are probably more interested in fixing these ships.
But its gonna be a while until t3 ships are worth the cost for normal players in pvp.

Unless the price is around T2 or below I am not sure if I am going to bother. I am having too much fun with T1. They are cheap. They got innsurance. They are fun to fly and they dont cost me skillpoints unless I forget to set a clone.
TBH I would love to see new cheap but good ships being introduced again. Combat ships you dont have to spend ages on earning cash for.

At this point i would say T3 will break all price records. You will need a LOT of money to get these ships, and i just don't see that much value in them. The risk is just insane, and the cost will reflect that.

Edited by: Lord WarATron on 28/02/2009 18:01:59 At this moment in time, nobody knows what the cost will be. The first few ships might go for a bil each, heck, even the first few rokhs & drakes were selling for 1 bil each within a few hours of release before the prices stabalised.
If the drop rates are high enough, a ship could go for slightly above HAC prices due to more complex manufacturing cycle. If the drop rates are low, then prices can be anybody's guess.

On the game development forums yesterday I read a Dev post saying that they wanted Strategic Cruisers to be about the same cost of T2 Cruisers. With the idea of people having several multiple subsystems handy for each hull.
So yeah, without (heavy) Dev intervention in the drop and salvage rates the things would be crazy expensive, but it looks like they want them much more available, thankfully.
