So, now that everybody will start off with 8/8/8/8/7cha, and attribute respec makes base attributes of different bloodlines and races pointless in "getting intel on what they have trained" (as if they were not almost pointless already), there goes the LAST reason to NOT allow us to also change the bloodline, or even the race of our character portrait.
So... will we be allowed to have a face change that's no longer "must be same gender and bloodline/race" but instead only "must be same gender and race" or even just "must be same gender" ?
Or, heck, why not allow us to change gender too ?
I mean... you get 10$ per change anyway, and I bet many would like to make a change that's impossible right now (especially people that bought their chars with ISK, and ISK probably with GTC/PLEX), so it's a win-win situation...

I for one would be willing to pay $10 to switch over to a Male Portrait. When I made my Achura I was stuck with either Achura Female Clone #14231 or Achura Ugly Male Clone #23123

That's not quite how it works. As you define the race, bloodline, career and specialisation various graphical options become available to you, not just those you'd associate with in game benefits such as skills and attributes.
Each contributes a part of the graphical options you can alter at the end, and that framework hasn't been revised in Apocrypha. Because of this, switching bloodlines has other knock on effects that need to be accounted for.
It's not on the cards currently, but then who knows what's just around the corner...

Can't you just mash in new values into the DB, and voila?
If you want, feel free to pay me to do that all day, You'd only need to match what I get paid already.

I wonder, will they upgrade the graphics some day? (more clothes, more defined faces, new accesoires, etc.)
If yes, I think we all should be able to change our ones, so older players are not in disadvantage.

Ambulation will force us to recreate our portraits using the new Ambulation character models.
Anyway. I would personally quite like to become Amarr, but I doubt it would ever happen

Ancestries seem completely pointless in Apocrypha... but... wait... since there are also no more career choices either in Apocrypha, could it be that you are maybe associating the starter school with the ancestry now, as opposed to picking a career ?
Please, do name one OTHER thing ancestries still matter for, since the only difference was in base attributes to begin with, which no longer matters since they are all uniformized to 88887 in Apocrypha.
Bloodlines only matter for the NPC corp you get stuck in when you leave a player corp... which, again, is kind of "meh".
For all intents and purposes, you'd better just DROP the ancestry choice altogether and remove all mentions of it from the database, and have the player PICK a school... and have the "fallback" NPC school be chosen by the pilot from available choices.
As for the skillset you start with, you're also reducing that to a minimum, and quite a bit of it is common across races, so not even race matters all that much anymore.
But no, seriously, other than "NPC corp you belong to if not in a player corp", what else does ancestry and bloodline matter for in Apocrypha ?
As for the character portrait swap you can do for 10$ now... all you'd need to do to "upgrade" it would be to REMOVE the check for "same gender and bloodline" from the swap and add the "copy bloodline/gender code from portrait donor" in it.

This really isn't any different than asking for skill refunds because a FOTM ship got changed, in this case it's a FOTM(Y) bloodline.
