Sure it's not perfect, by it would take care of 90% of legit people who get denied by current rules.
Better rule: Everybody posting on COAD will get banned until his post is deemed worthy his continued existence and the ban gets lifted.
I'm with abrazzar on this one, except that part about ban getting lifted.

Not to mention, you're not even involved in any of the stuff on COAD, so you can't even make a difference.
If you're insulted about you not mattering in Eve politics than do something about it.
hate to say it but I gotta agree with the goon.....
Originally by: Kurlieu Okay, I don't have a horse in this race but I do have a thought.
My current corp is small, only 7 of us, so I can't post in COAD. No big deal, I don't have much to say. But it seems obvious to me that lots of pilots from the large Corps/Alliances don't have much to say either (or they say too much of nothing)- Although I do love the drama.
Might it be possible or perhaps even reasonable, to make it so only officers could post? That would allow 9 pilot Corps to have their say and knock out a lot of the nonsense. I'd like to think that the quality of thought would be more important than the size of the Corp.
Hmmm, I guess that brings us back to moderators?
wouldn't mind seeing that sorta thing being done as well as the corp size limit, only directors being allowed to post on coad would make some of those epic threadnaughts of 'lol', 'who was phone', etc. go back to where they came from or at least move over to eve general discussion.

Look, it's simple. Many people stopped reading and posting on CAOD because it's not worth it to wade through dozens of threads with hundreds of posts like "yo mad?", pyramid quoting and all the other nonsense that giving up on moderation in favor of easy to circumvent restrictions on which corporations may post have brought us. It's CCP's turn to make CAOD readable first, then interesting stuff will be posted again.

What if you came into the game and started your own corp and have been in it since practically day one?

Edited by: Chssmius on 04/03/2009 09:13:20 Arbitrary rules and limits don't work.
The only way to make CAOD worth reading again is to pay 1 or 2 people as a full time position to moderate CAOD rigorously, and hand out massive over the top penalties for posting junk. How does a 1 million SP or a $15 penalty sound? Repeat offenders get fined 6 months worth of subscription and a 1 month ban on their IP.
This would bring CAOD into order very quickly with the added benefit of paying for itself for as long as a moderator is needed. -- Jonathan Swift
-------------
The fundamental advantage of an internet forum is people can speak there mind. The fundamental problem with an internet forum is most people have nothing constructive to say. There is absolutely no way to draw a dividing line and say that those who fall short of this line have no opinion worth hearing whatsoever and for it to be true. For the record, up until late last week I would have been unable to express my opinion on anything in CAOD as I am in a growing corp in a growing alliance.
I have seen many things and experienced much, though not everything. I have seen the closing of 3 corporations and two large space holding alliances. I have been betrayed and I have lost it all. I have been a carebear and a warrior fighting along side and against some of the best.
Many people will not care for what I have to say but that does not mean I have nothing useful to say. Yet, under the current rules, until late last week I could not have posted in CAOD(assume it was cleaned up and worth reading).
That said, it is very difficult for CCP to filter out the junk from what is worth while with any degree easy. So short of three full time employees(8 hour shifts) dedicated to moderating CAOD there is no straight forward solution to this problem. Even then, some wheat would be tosted with the chaff, as wheat can sometimes masquerade as chaff on the internet.
