here's my setup: OS: 10.5.6 early 2008 macbook pro 2.2GHz core 2 duo w/ 2GB RAM. 8600M GT 128MB.
i downloaded the full client and installed that. in general, i've had a good experience with the apocrypha so far. after repeated cmd-tabbing, i've only managed to crash the client once! with that crash, i was able to restart the client without having to restart the windowserver. hopefully, that's an indication of improved stability when compared to the classic client.
the graphics are very shiny! however, it looks like the low shader settings have issues. i tried using medium on this system, but there are some scenes that cause severe framerate drop (5-10fps instead of 20-30). with low shader settings, i see frequent occurrences of texture misloads akin to what i've seen with the old classic client. this includes everything from garbage texture loads to translucent coloured polygons in space. i've seen this mostly happen with explosions and other particle effects like the clouds. i haven't seen these screwups occur with shader settings on medium.
in addition, i've also experienced extremely muted sounds for weapons fire and jump gate activation. i have to turn the music down all the way to even hear the aforementioned sound effects. i also hear occasional crackling if the music is turned up (>8). with the music down around 4, i don't hear that.
finally, i noticed that the window resizing has changed in a way that is pretty counter-intuitive. normally, a minimum-sized window will allow you to shrink the window to that size and then stop the resizing. the cursor still moves in the direction of change when this happens. for example, you can see this effect when you shrink a safari window. with windows in eve, this is not what happens. instead, the cursor gets locked onto the resize window edge and sticks there. that's very disturbing as it causes a disconnect between user action and cursor position.
the system.log is a bit chatty. besides the unhandled exception that caused the crash, i see the following message every so often: [0x0-0x360360].com.transgaming.EVEOnline[0]: MACCA_IOInputProc: buffer underrun
