I have long predicted that "Burn Jita" was going to be the mother of all non-events. Ganking in Jita happens all day long, every day. The economic presentation at fanfest told us that more total tonnage of ships were destroyed in Jita last year than any other system. (And by a good margin at that.) From what I've been reading it appears that I'm going to be right. All the Goonies seem to have planned is a long-weekend of ganking. Big Deal. This will hardly be a blip on the radar. The denizens of Jita will take the weekend off to investigate this strange "going outside" phenomenon everybody talks about and business will be back to normal next week. Goons, I urge you to rethink this plan. You have the opportunity to do something great here. Jita is a vast cesspool of horribly un-creative lazy scams, .01isk market bots, and non-funny trolls. Decentralizing trade in EVE out of the horrible pit of despair that is Jita could be the best thing that ever happened to this game. Unfortunately a weekend of ganking is not going to "burn down" anything. I suppose goons will do what goons will do and it would be too much to hope that they will do anything beyond a half-arsed weekend gank holiday. It's just a shame really. Why not use all that moon-goo money or even the hulkageddon prizes to fund continued Jita interdiction? BOB's been killed again ... what else do you goons have to spend it on while they work on their next reincarnation? Ah well. I hope everyone has some fun this weekend. Maybe it'll get to the level of chaos and mayhem. If it does - Enjoy it while it lasts. "....as if 10,058 Goon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced."
