I've downloaded the complete new installer, but unfortunately the auto-updater still doesn't work. All I get is Incompatible Build.
Also patches & download on the EVE download page still post to the outdated version.
Is there any link at all to be found to the 34 MB patch?

All patches and installers should now be available. Noone should be getting the error message about not finding the patch anymore.
Please report any issues.

For all the people wondering, CCP Casqade already mentioned they are using the LimeLight distribution network for the downloads. As with all distribution networks (Internet or not) some transport lines are faster than others; some distribution centers work faster than others.
The LimeLight network has many server located all over the world, as close as possible to the endusers, so the downloading endusers have the fastest possible speed their ISP is providing then to these distribution servers. So might see faster speeds even to max, some not. Possible reasons: 1) your ISP don't provide it's full line speed to the distribution server, 2) Your ISP backbones are filled up with other traffic too, 3) the 'local' LimeLight distribution server is serving lots of downloads and is reaching it limits.
Remember, you are NOT the only one downloading the EVE patches/upgrades/full versions at this very moment. Think about all the subscribed EVE pilots, some even with multiple installs, try to make a guess how many are downloading in your local region FROM this LimeLight distribution server and multiply that amount by your 'Top of line' download speed you are expecting. Now that the bandwidth the local LM Distri server has to serve. And a part of that transport over your ISP network. Get the idea?
And we are not even trying to make a guess of the amount of bandwidth worldwide.... just for this one -FREE- EVE Online upgrade. Just for today and the next few days....
You really expect that for this few in a year CCP massive upgrade events, all involved parties (CCP, LimeLight, Backbone network provider, Exchange Hub, your ISP) will make sure you will be able to download your game @ max speed?
Bottomline: The distribution is amazing CCP, good TOP-OF-LINE distribution network you have chosen.

Q: This says it's downloading "premium", is there a premium lite download? A: You get premium "Light" simple by turning your graphics settings down a bit. Just Press ESC when you log in and change the settings under the Graphics & Display tab.
Its beyond the scope of this topic probably, but im missing a few settings (shadows/bloom for example), does that mean that this is a unfinished mac client and we can expect a full premium graphics version later on?
Quote:
Q: After install the client wants me to update with a 34 meg. patch that has not been posted yet, either on the website or autopatch system. A: Patch should be available now.
Patch isnt available on this website (only older versions) from my location (netherlands) and the game doesnt offer any update but is flagged "incompatible" (version 85063)

The second patch does NOT start do download. The autouploader is NOT working in my full new Apocrypha installation.
The EVE Patches page is not displaying a patch for Apocrypha. It says the latest version is 72263 and Current Client Version: v.5.20.75883.
So all I'm getting is Incompatible Build.
Can someone please, pretty please post a link to the second patch so I can download and install manually?

We're currently investigating a problem where the big patch: TQ 75883 to Apocrypha 84063 is failing verification while downloading. I'll keep you posted on this.

Is there any direct download for the last patch (the small one), to circumvent the lack of autopatching?

It used to work in the previous client.
Please file a bug report on this and any other client issues you encounter. Keep this thread to Patch issues.

Yes. This is a Safari 'feature'. Your download somehow got interupted, and Safari just finishes the downloaden. Check the filesize of your TGZ file, it should be around 2.2 GB.
If it's not, you have two options to get things going:
1) Go into Terminal and enter the following commands (expecting you have default Safari settings):
cd ~/Downloads
curl -O -C - http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/mac/evepremiumpatch75883-84244-mac.tgz
Your EVE Patch download should resume where Safari left it.
Note, this is the URL for the patch upgrade file. If you have another file downloaded, replace everything after the last '/' with the correct filename.
2) Download it again with a download manager (Google around for one)
Problem is that the current Safari itself is not able to resume interrupted downloads.

Edited by: luchiao on 10/03/2009 15:12:59 Everything working fine 4 me (after a long waiting on 30mg patch downloading and two attempts) Just one question: - Will we need to make a copy to run 2 clients at the same time (like it was in the version before)? or It's this version capable to open more than one client in parallel?
Thanks. Be God. Be you. Pod yourself... |

Something I just ran into...34 meg patch wasn't downloading via the Eve client because of my outgoing firewall setup.
If you're using Little Snitch, an outgoing application filtering firewall, you may need to temporarily disable it (or add a new rule). Disabling it allowed the new Mac premium client to download the 34 meg patch.

You can always download a client for your neighbor.

That's not doing it for me unfortunatly. Firewall is off and the patch still just won't start.

LOL.
When I first started that "online" thingy, I had a 2400 baud modem. It was slow. I replaced it later with a faster one. But that was slow, too. And I updated and updated, and somewhere on the way to my current 32 Mbit line must have been a point where the feeling of "slow" vanished and my line felt "right". I missed that point! So now I'm stuck with a line where everything I do feels slow---just because it uses less than 50% of my line's capacity.

I am also not getting the second patch. There was a direct download address for the full client awhile ago, its gone now. I downloaded from the main client and patch page earlier, getting the pre-apocraphal files.
The full client (from this forum thread) did download well, but I get the "incompatable client" issue, and get no option to do the second patch on the new apocraphal logon page.
Could we get that on a page somewhere? Or confirm that the main patch download page points to the correct "second" patch?
