Probe list is not showing.. it shows when you drop the probe the first time, but after that, the only way to modify your probes is to click on them in the map interface instead of the probe list.. which is odd and hard.

Ummm we have a public test server. The testing group are players. If you think you can do better you should be a bug hunter and stop complaining.
Ivan, you just made his point for him ... CCP lets its players find bugs, instead of testing them themselves.
Ya your right, I did miss that. I'm under the impression all software companies used end users to find the bulk of the bugs, so why is that wrong for CCP to do?

No, that's not the case ... and among real software developers, it's considered unprofessional to do so. No one seriously expects every product to be bug-free, so of course customers will find bugs in almost every product -- but in my own experience as a developer (mirrored by other posters in the same business), the level of errors we've had in this patch would have been totally unacceptable in any product I participated in.
Let me add one other point, which I'm sure will get me flamed by the faithful. I'm fairly new to the EVE universe, so I don't have the history here that others do. It was only after finally my own client working that I found out that an install of a previous upgrade (which I thankfully missed) resulted in a critical system file being deleted (boot.ini) which would have killed a Windows machine. If I had known that was the level of competence involved here, I would have never trusted ANY patch from CCP .. and I have to wonder about the level of sanity of any user who would. This time, at least, a bullet was dodged, in that I can still boot Windows -- but I won't be executing any more patches from CCP.

Yesterday I put a few short skills in the queue, and stuck a level 5 with 4 days remaining on it at the end.
Today I check and the level 5 is training, but it's now showing 22 days remaining!
From looking at the XML returned by the API, it appears the "training_start_sp" has changed from 900,000+ (which my character sheet XML still reports!) back down to the level 4 value...
I can confirm this as well. I started training a level 5 skill (gallente industrial) last sunday. I tried the queue last night and put some level 1 skills in it ( about 8 - 10 hours worth of skills) with the level 5 ending the queue. I checked it today and it shows 18days remaining (the same as if I started it 7 hours ago - not 4 days ago).

Getting severe server-side lag, been "rubberbanding" back to my original location when warping, and experiencing large delays from issuing an order (such as clicking jump through stargate) to the order being executed (when my ship actually jumps through the stargate).
Otherwise, great expansion, visuals make me drool :3 ____________________________________ "One mans thrash is a Minmatar's ship component" |

QFT, we all know bug free is not possible, but eve has bugs that are years old and never get fixed, and releasing this patch the way it is, they either launched it knowing it was buggered to hell or they have serious problems with their QA. You CANNOT launch software this crappy if you care for your customers, I'd rather see it postponed for 6 months than launching it completely filled with bugs.
Really CCP, I'm nog going to go emorage insulting on you guys, but you truly screwed this one up.

Sounds are gone, or so low-volume that they may as well be. Lag is much worse.
I do hope you/CCP are not expecting me to pay for this toilet-bowl quality.

CCP is currently asking everyone with this problem to file a petition under Reimbursement > skills. In case anyone isn't aware.

So yesterday was pvping in kronos everything was awesome and fine. Today i jump into a reasonably sized camp to get a fight and 2 zealots 2 volley me.
My kronos dies in about 8 seconds having taken an EPIC 2.9k damage. It was a very expensive kronos at that
Petition has been sent and i will be chasing back everything i lost not just the stuff that died.

Not a huge deal, but still a bit annoying. Commas and periods are no longer used as a seperator in the value of a office rental bill when you recieve the evemail notification.
It used to be like this;
8,873,974.00
It now displays like this;
8873974 --

The ability to sort the built in ship scanner results by name, distance, or type is borked upon rescanning. It used to take how you told it to sort (say, closest distance) and apply that to subsequent scans. This was very helpful in determining movement of stuff off-grid. Now the scanner will reset itself and scan at some sort of default each time you press scan.
Seems like a bug, or is it intended? Can we get it turned back the way it used to be, pretty please.

Can't login tonite. This is new, as the game worked all week long. Actually enjoyed revisiting mining in hi-sec, with the great new graphics and animations.
Screen message says, "0 players in Tranquility. 908 in queue."
I will patiently wait for things to get fixed. Love the game.
But holy cow, this was avoidable.
CCP is reaching for the limits of gaming, which is good. However, above all, a game has to be playable.
There should be some good lessons learned by this.

Aside from everything being unusually slow (much slower than before the patch) on my WinXP nVidia 9600GT 512MB SAS drive gaming system, I'm constantly having deja vu forced upon me by warping into asteroid belts three or four times (before actually arriving there), or to stations, or to, well, pretty much anything stationary (in Ranielles and most of the surrounding areas I've been in since the patch.) Same thing happens with pretty much everything (lag) and I'm not on a slow connection and nothing else has changed locally that I can find that would cause this (and it didn't happen until the patch).
Otherwise, I gotta say... I left the game for awhile because of bugs and, well, I got blown out of low sec space one too many times for my liking, but I've been back for a little bit and the game is much better - I love all the new features you added with this patch - every last one of them I've come across thus far. Still waiting for things to settle down before I go seeking warp to the Sleepers - have hard enough time fighting little pirates in 0.6 space with all the lag and troubles.
Darn crash ya'll just had left me stranded in the middle of an asteroid field with some bad guys. Sure hope it's still there when I get back in ;)
Keep up the good work... and keep those fixes coming. You guys rock the multiplayer world (and many world beyond, apparently <g>). Kudos on some great work - looking forward to no more lag ;)

Hello,
I'm having a problem voting on a vote in my corporation. There was an issue before the patch and still remained after the patch. I can see and expand the vote and I can see yes or no, but I don't have any voting buttons..
I tried doing a search on voting, but could find anything.
Can anyone offer some advice?
Thanks Doc Doc
I'm not really a doctor, I just play one in-game.
WOOHOO!! My character just celebrated 5 years and I'm almost to 60 million skillpoints.

Here's an 'issue' I haven't seen raised.
If you train skills in the skill queue, you don't get credit for those skills until you eventually actually log back in.
So if you train learning skills, you won't get the attribute bonus for those skills on subsequent skills in your queue until you log in.
Perhaps there's no way to fix that, but I think it's worth mentioning (and making folks aware of.)

While i have put skills in the queue the Character sheet on this site shows that only the first is finished, and the next one is not showing up training.
Is that intended? Should i start worrying about lost skill points? ------- Nobody can be exactly like me. Even I have trouble doing it. |

Edited by: Jaxa on 13/03/2009 04:59:47 Edited by: Jaxa on 13/03/2009 04:59:02 This Thread is a mish mash of every conceavable problem with the new update along with ranting and angry posts from those without any patience... RESULT A pointless thread that does not help anyone at all due to there being thousands of posts of every mannar to sift through trying to see if someone has already raised or solved an issue. This results in even more posts as people dont look through the whole thread or even if they do they overlook what they were looking for and add another post for something already mentioned. This in turn also means that posting here and asking for help probably wont get you an answer anyway as your post will be lost in the mess that it is. Talk about the proverbial needle in a haystack.

Edited by: Deepest Killers on 13/03/2009 05:55:18 Now, When I ctrl-q out of the game, my client crashes to desktop with a file exception in eve.com. I have sent the crash log to microsoft which I doubt you guys will receive. I believe this crash is caused from a memory leak (eek, bad thing to tell a developer). IMO, This release reminds me of how EA pushes the developer to make the product gold and send it out the door with a few dozen minor patches along the way. I should have seen the writing on the wall, when you guys hooked up with Atari.

For those of you having issues with downloading or patching. Uninstall everything thathas to do with eve. Do A disc clean up of the drive you are going to be installing on. Then do a defrag of that drive as well. Then download the game. Everyone should be doing this anyway. And yes I know it's a pain. But it could solve a lot of problems for you.

Getting a blue screen of death (BSOD) on my PC after launching Eve
When I log in, I get the progress bar to load the character selection screen and somewhere at 35/37 (or 37/39) the screen goes black and the bluescreen appears.
Have this on two installations on the same computer, patcher finished fine without any issues.
Tried running the log server but since I never really log into Eve it doesnt show anything (might fiddle around with it a bit later)
Dxdiag doesnt show any issues, PC was untouched from Pre expansion to now (as I was out of house) and was able to run two premium clients (though with low fps) so it regulary ran one premium and one classic (even using the stretch across two screens option from NVIDIA) to 2x 1680x1050). Again both patch process went smooth without any issues. Both installations show exactly the same behaviour, I have not yet tried a full new installation (still downloading the full client).
I striped down all settings to using just one screen still then running dxdiag and still getting the BSOD.
Please help me?
