Yes.
So it no longer matters if a mission times out or not. You only get standing hits if you fail a mission and thats it.
So the new system is actually quite good then. --

Ther eis only one thing to tell ccp
put the old agent interaction back and go do your homework and make a better thing we are damm bore of the last minute corner table homework
why does the button to talk with the agent need to move left and right... why i can't open mission details like before talking with agent, i need those to pop in my face when mission is done, why does the agent talking need to close when i accept mission it was just some 8100 trit the agent wanted i was able to do "back and complete" before now must find the agent back under the windows and start a talk again and open the mission just to finaly tell him i am done fetching 8100 trit common that is more than counter intuitive, that is total non-sense

I for once thoroughly HATE this new looping "feature" where you can't get out of the damn dialogue with the agent after refusing the mission.
You aske me why? Simply because i like to keep MY journal neat and tidy without all that "expiring" trash in it and it's MY journal where I am supposed to keep what I want...
To me it looks like some coder at CCP forgot to glue a simple "GTFO" button in there and now we are being explained that it's all "intended"... And if it's intended indeed, someone over there needs to actually use a "little bit" of thinking to accomodate for a wider player base rather than impose a dubious "improvement" like this.
We are talking about a simple "exit" button, no?????

Decline your missions in space by opening your journal and starting the conversation there. it removes the offers completely when you reject them there. _______________________________________________ Easy Dude. You're being very un-Dude.

The worst is now being unable to decline storyline agents' missions because "they have no other missions to give you".

Why? Who knows but I do care.
Of course I'm cool with finding stuff in Eve that makes no sense. I'm sure this will be even more confusing for people with a lot less experience with CCP than I have. WooHoo, new player experience should include a tutorial titled, "It don't make sense but that's the thrill of it all."
I'm stuck with this for a couple of RnD agents, try and decline the mission and get told "XXX has no other missions for you right now." (which I guess is the same issue that those of you with storyline agents are having).
I've had no problems with other agents its just those two special agent types that don't always have something for you to do.
Its a pity all research projects were deleted from the sisi mirrors or I might have spotted this but because I didn't get any "hey I need like 1 trit" messages I never bothered with visiting the RnD agents.

I just tried to decline a mission and auto recieved another and thought it was a glitch. I sent in a petition before seaching the forums. So now I guess I just wait till they tell me to "hurry up and wait".
I vote for "this is a stupid feature" on this one.

Am i the only one with a 3rd Button named "Delay (Mission)" to close the Agent window and decide next time what to do with the Mission offered? Anyway, i dont have Problems with the New Style of the Agent Window.

March 17, 2009. Standing's hit from letting "Silent the Informant" expire after accepting.
I just wanted to add that if u were to accept a mission, then let it expire, you TAKE the standings hit. Any other information is wrong. I took the standings hit, and it HURTS! I can't do level 5's anymore... -.20% is a lot!!!
Does anyone else want to confirm? I tested with my 8.5 Caldari.

You're not the only one. I have that button. It works perfectly fine for me. It even gives you a big pop-up the first time you use an agent after the patch to explain how it works -- even if you've previously indicated that you don't want to see any help messages.
I like the new agent interaction.

This
I was locating this guy some days ago and now I got a huge list of "offered" missions lmao. (I was searching for a locator agent you know...)
while the new agents screen design is faster, sometimes it's annoying... and once I accepted a mission "by mistake" then had to decline and lost stands lol.

THATS BECAUSE YOU HAD ACCEPTED IT
we were talking about leting it expire WITHOUT accepting. Those are very different things...

Mission expiration, i.e. offer time-outs, no longer incur a standing penalty. Declining and Quitting both carry the same penalties as before, but now it's a choice between loss of time or standing, never both.
Every 4 hours you can still decline one without penalty. If you have Declined or Quit a mission, you can note on the left pane of the new interaction window that at the bottom there is now a message that informs you both if you will incur penalty declining this mission and a countdown timer of how much more time you have to wait without penalty.
This doesnt even sound relevant to the topic.
He's talking about being offerd a new mission straight away, not the negative effects of declining.
I do find the new system rather rubbish. Before accepting a mission I always clicked "view details of mission" I would then keep that minimised for reference. Now, when you accept it closes it!!?? And now I have to click journal, find the mission and read details...
This is going backwards in functionality not forwards.

I thought CCP's "Need for Speed" inititive was to reduce steps in doing things so the server doesn't get bogged down by redundant items. By letting the mission that auto popped up after declining the first one stay active, is there not a portion of the server that has to keep track of it until it expires? If so CCP has just coded in another lag generator without really needing to do so.

They really dropped the ball on this whole patch.
Yeah, the servers are up (well if you ignore the extended downtime and the crashes, like the one we just had). But there is almost no new feature that isn't broken, or hasn't lost functionality.
I would say "At least they got the graphics right" if it wasn't for the fact that all rogue drone models have been replaced by the outline of a Tempest shield boosting model. Hahaha... wtf, CCP? Get it together.
WTB the old agent interaction system!
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |
