If you are on a tight budget what are you doing getting into a game with a monthly subscription????
Save yourself the money and quit, but don't come in here bashing CCP because you don't have money and don't have time to read, but you have plenty of time to ***** and pay monthly subscription. Now with that saved money from quitting EvE and you can buy yourself a new $30 graphics card that can play EvE after 2 months. After that 2 months you can come back to EvE and contribute positively to the community or go find a new hobby.

I have two computers. One is able to use the premium graphics the other, alas, was not. Did I moan and groan? No I did not I am happy to say. I though outside the box.
I stole my little sisters piggy bank and took all her money she was saving to play Hello Kitty and bought me a new graphics card for my six year old computer.
No, not really. I don't have a little sister.
I did buy a new ($50) graphics card back in December because:
1. The graphics card was old (about 3 years) and making funny noises.
2. I knew that CCP was getting rid of the Classic graphics back in December.
One final thing. Mr. OP didn't think that CCP would cancel classic? After all the Dev Blogs and stuff on the forums? If someone tells you they are going to kick you in the balls are you just going to stand there with your legs spread wide and say "I don't beleive you" or are you at least going to place your hands down there to protect the "little ones" just in case?

I didn't think they would cancel classic. If i would have known that i would not have put my time into the game developing characters. I'm trying the patch to see if it works because i don't want to loose my characters but if it doesn't work i'm getting my money back. i'll just call my credit card company and file a dispute. this is obviously unfair since you have to build your character up to reach the better levels of the game. however you shouldn't be required to buy new hardware. i'll be sure to contest this. it's not just the money it's the time i put into the game developing my characters which eve obviously doesn't value. Thanks for being tight wads eve! Sneaky trick. I guess you can't earn your money or respect fairly. 
You had plenty of time (2-3 months) to retract your subscription. So if you didn't pay a 6-months (or yearly) subscription it's your fault. If you did, i suppose you can request a reimbursement of the remaining game time.
Do not try and find the signature... that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth... There is no signature. |

i'm on a ... five year old motherboard, and a $160 video card. Shaders on high. Textures on high. Bloom on. Everything cranked.
25-40 frames a second at all times.
Get some hardware that dosn't suck, and learn to configure it.

Personally,
I think there is nothing wrong with CCP upgrading the classic version to only function with a Pixel Shader of 2.0+.
The amount of people who are on 1.0 I am sure is very small. If you can afford a 14.99/month charge, I don't see why you can't keep up with the advancements of society. This will not only make the Dev's life easier with coding and management, but new updates, advancements, and graphical inclinations for people who have the hardware to enjoy a better graphic experience. Allowing time for new things -- things that new people would want to experience, and thus, new members.
Of course, it could be argued that my stand is bias based on the fact that I do have a 4.0 Pixel Shader.
I am sure you can find enough money to get a supported card. I mean, don't tell you don't spend a few dollars at some fast food spot, getting something from a vending machine, a new shirt, or something else that really isn't needed. If you drive, there is no need to drive to a friends house just to hang out for personal stimulation, reduce your gas usage to save on overall gas expense. If you have a cell phone, you don't need that extra unlimited texting service at the cost of higher end of the month bill. If you live on your own, reduce the amount of gas, water, and electricity you use.
Spend some time on the internet, there are lots of great deals that you can get on Graphic Cards. I save like 100$ on my SLI Setup with some rebates, coupons, free shipping, and instant savings.

Wonderful comment. I to would naturally suggest thing to anyone with such complaints. Just stop playing for a few months, along with some other money savings options, and get a new card.
People waste so much money on things that they really don't need... yet they will spend their money and they complain that they don't have the funds for something...

You must be kidding right ... shader model 2.0 is all that's required, if your card can't handle that, you can get one that will for about $20-30.
Please, I'd rather the game actually had progress, and kept up with at least the last decades graphics achievements, than try and waste development time trying to develop a whole seperate client just for those who have made a conscious decision not to keep theior computer even mildly up to date.
Oh and apart from SM 2.0 the eve light actually requires less resources to play than the classic client... so please, do yourself a favour, miss a month or two of subs, and come back to the game with a new g.card and that chip on your shoulder filled in.
I guess EVE is the only game you play ... it has to be, unless you also count minesweeper.
If an MMO game doesn't move forward it dies, simple as that. Be thankfull it's even still around for you to play.

EDIT: No kidding. I have a corpmate who got a 9400 GT 1GB for around $60 a few weeks ago when replacing his PC which was dying. That's a ONE GIGABYTE card for less than a hundred! He got a great deal on all the parts, really.
