You know how long it took us? As long as it takes to mine 20k veldspar and manufacture 10 shuttles, and dot them around system from an Orca, in total including the mining and placing time, about and hour each. And trust me that isnt really much at all.
Okay it was a small oversight, we dont forum **** and whine about our mission ninjas, we know its a game mechanic and honestly wouldnt want the mechanics to change to stop or limit tuem. The ones that steal our loot we gang up on and kill. The ones that steal our salvage, we simply stop the mission and do a different one.
We misunderstood a mechanic, but still tried to do something productive about our problem. So why are people bothering to flame me when I am attempting to combat them on equal footing?

We were mislead by someone on SiSi in our corp who told us they changed the scan so you dont know what your scanning for untill you get in real close. And the filters were basically just "ships". ----------------------------------------------- Mr.Kippling just launched a nuclear holocaust at third world countries! ... Originally by: Master Matari Me and everyone in my corp totalling 54 people each dropped 10 shuttles based in intelligently chosen places (where we had a mission before) in our major mission hub. We have gotten friendly corps to do the same in our and their mission hubs totalling another 120 players meanning 1,740 shuttles beteen 4 systems. The idea is spreading fast.
This is because with the new probing system, you cant tell what you are scanning untill you scan in close. With all of these extra ships on scan, it will throw off, confuse and outright demoralise a vast number of salvage ninjas. We usually get at least 1-2 mission ninjas a day strike out corp. Last night we had none, and neither did any of our friends, so early signs that it is working, this could be down to the pirates getting used to their new scanners however, time will tell.
All you have to do is drop the shuttle, bookmark the location and every 20 days hop inside it again to refresh its deletion timer.
Do the same, get the mission ninjas to earn their own isk instead of stealing yours.

It's not combat, it's greed.
Your being flamed for being smug while actually being a complete failure, and for posting with your alt.

This.
Guess you better use something a little more expensive. Like a BS or something.

Originally by: Panzram is there really any money in ninja salvaging? sounds like a lot of work for someone else scraps. i'm familiar with the loot and salvage from lvl 4 missions, and if you only get some of that after scanning someone down it all sounds pretty lose/lose. i saw the word 'honor' in this thread which i know is code for "no isk".
There some, it's enuff for some of us when you factor in the tears and the hilarious failures such as this, I would think a goon would appreciate this perspective no ?

Perhaps one reason is that we don't like folk who deliberately create lag in a vain/selfish attempt to scupper folks who don't play like they do, besides, still seems like an awful lot of effort for someone who does not care about ninjas

this wont work at all, once a sig has hit 25% you can tell what kind of ship it is(battleship, battlecrusier, etc.) so you can filter it by those. also scanning mission runners is SOOOO much easier inside deadspaces, took me a average of 1 min to find anyone mission runner.

I'm still lolling about this. I just love it.
You could, you know, bring your own salavger along? Assuming you are a missioning PvE corp and you run multiple missions at the same time, she could do them all at the same time. I mean you'll probably sit there for 20 mins waiting for something to salvage anyway..
