Tests indicated that pod pilots in general responded better to sounds which communicated a sense of speed when they were travelling faster than light. -

There is no internal view as you are in an enclosed pod full of amniotic fluid so any internal view would be like in a womb.
You guys keep saying the same about the background story... It's not about if its possible, but if you guys want, if we want, CCP will find a way to do it! Oh! It's not possible! but a small shimp can bump a Titant, Hrmp ok that's possible ffs
If you dislike the game so much why play it and if you dont dislike why do you want to change it into a totally different game. Play freelancer or something if you want twitch based counterstrike in space.

I watched some walking in stations video some weeks ago and a member of the audience asked if it would be possible to go into a room where you can look at your ship. The devs said it was unlikely for such a feature because after you have looked at it once, how likely are you go back and have another look.
I don't know about you, but there is not a chance I will be flying my ship with the camera located inside of it because I suspect the view out of the windows will be inadquate compared with some that is zoomed out quite a distance. It might be cool having a look at the interior for a couple of seconds but is there a reason to go have another look? ---

I don't like the whole Jovian POD thing.
It kind of makes storyline completly look dumb sometimes. Why the hell people in storylines die ? They have resources for battleships, but instead of being in a POD they decided to risk their lives running the ship via old school.
It's hard to feel a sacrifice for the guy that destroyed the "End Of The World" when the first thing that cames to your mind is that he's not sane running a ship without a POD.
I think Hilmar said that they wanted the player to feel that he is not a ship, but a person commanding one, with crew and stuff. Well the whole POD thing kind of kills the whole idea.
Well now the eve is stuck with this idea, you change this system, you change one of the most basic mechanics, oh i really don't want to see the forums after that.
Actually in space you can hear sounds that belong to your ship, engines, your gun fire, impact on your hull.

Ambulation patch - when you go to get into your ship fro mthe hanger when you are walking arouind inside the station you will see it and be able to get a feel for the actual size of the thing. Huh? |

There is a concept video done somewhere, I can't find the link though :(
at the end, a malediction passes by a pod and slices in half, that has some internal pod footage if I remember correctly.
Read about camera drones in the backstory to know how and what we see.

That's it, thanks for that.
Yeah I remember it was player made. That's why I noted at the beginning it was concept. Thought it would be a good insight to all those new players wanting to see the inside.

THIS WOULD BE COOl.
Also, just a side note... why walking in stations? When walking inside ships would be so much cooler and better and not lame!
EDIT: nice video.. dam that laser beam ship is scary!

Why have social gaming in a social setting, when we can do it alone in the privacy of our own ships. -

Would remove all the ui elements...maybe keep the chat window, possibly add a zoom box ( imagine a mouse controlled box that magnifies what is in the box )... a few details like a red alert alarm if your ship takes damage (or rather is targeted).
Would be nice to have while mining in a relatively safe area.

Of the trillions of people in the EVE Cluster, only a few hundred thousand have the genetic make up and neural capability to cope with capsule technology. This is why people arn;t in pods. Nearly all those NPCs, non-capsuleer ships, which is why you can take them out so easily even in a similar classed ship.
Capsuleers are just better. ---

I hardly think that a pod pilot would be limited to one single video feed.
One issue I've always had with EVE is that because the camera lets you zoom out so far, the epicness of things doesn't really have much impact on you. Flying in a frig next to a carrier, or around a station, doesn't give you that feeling of being dwarfed like it should. Yeah the new gates are pretty big and cool looking, but nothing in eve feels all that big because you can always zoom out far enough to see the whole thing. A bridge view would fix this... - Always be Happy, Never be satisfied. |

Originally by: Karr Blanch IIRC, according to lore, T1 ships are ordinary ships modified to be piloted via pod. T2 ships are T1 ships that have been stripped of the useless crew quarters and life support systems and had the empty space taken up by corridors and elevators and the like replaced with technology for more ass-kicking.
You do not recall correctly.
T1 and T2 have nothing to do with what you say. Some ships are modified from normally crewed ships, some are designed for pods from the ground up. This has nothing to do with T1 or T2.
Pod-controlled ships larger than frigates have crews. There is no debate about this. Devs had said so repeatedly.

EvE has it's background and lore. Has had most of it for going on six years. They have an ever-growing database of chronicles and 'history', fully at the disposal of any player interested in reading.
Yet constantly, players take the concept of 'write your own story', and the go about believing whatever they want to believe and whatever they like. That's all well and good ... if you want to pretend you're Captain Picard going through a wormhole sprouted from Vader's ass for the sake of galactic conquest, more power to you. What you pretend and imagine is all good and well.
But you're playing in someone ELSE's universe. I get it, you don't like the rules. But you got to be one very arrogant son of a ***** if you REALLY believe that you should have any right to change THEIR creation.
They wrote the rules. They're continually advancing. You might disagree with their approach. But it's their universe. Play, or go away, or just ignore it and do your own thing.
But don't go trying to convince other players of how Riker is sitting next to you on the deck of your own flagship sipping Grey Goose and laughing with Luke. Cause we'll tell you your wrong, and you won't like that and will probably get even more upset.

Because ships have CREWS.
As well, there hasn't really been a confirmation that all those lights are windows, either. Might be track lighting, equipment highlighters, who the **** knows.
But yeah, ships have crews. People are walking around on them. Just not YOU, because you're locked in a pod controlling the dynamics of almost every function of the ship.

You're not walking around on the bridge. You're not giving commands from a console. It's all in your head. You can do what no captain without a pod could possibly do. You get audio cues that mimic sound (as there is no sound in space). You get physical cues that mimic ship movements, so that you can even respond to touch and feel, as well as sound (possibly even scent). Essentially, you're now the mind of the ship.
EvE Chronicles, under backstory, tabs to your left. Very good info.
And, magically, your camera drones are dd proof...?

It's explained in the back story that they've got a large supply of them because they're tiny, and they don't just take in data from the visual light spectrum. The computer on board that feeds you the information could easily make up what you see to fill in the gap using other sensors and such blah blah blah ------
