I've moved the guide to its own website since now that I have disbanded my corporation Ill have all my time to test new things and present new stuff for which I had no time or didn't have the platform to present it.
Coming soon: the Haladian Mining System. I ran my own 0.0 corp for 2 years, the system has been proven and tested and is by far the most efficient way to run a corporation when it comes to the administration of mining ops. ★ LSJV now recruiting ★ |

Thank you for all your efforts. I started EVE last May and your guide was invaluable. I finally got another account in order to make a character to try to get into LSJV to do mining right. About the time she could fly an Orca, I understood some of what I read in CAOD. I do hope you return and GL in future endeavors. I hope to see lots of info - and read about your successes with - PI.
Might I suggest two ways to leverage the website now that you have it?
Include the URI for the site in the PDF to make it easier for people to find and get errata and updates.
Second, why not have a dynamic web ap for "best Ore to mine", ISK/hr by ship, etc. Worst case you could just link to one of the existing sites. But if you did your own, you could have the rows and columns match what is in the guide. And you could have the link to the web app right next to the "valid as of Mar 10, 2009" disclaimer in the PDF.
I also think trends provide insight, so keeping some of the older tables allow newer players to see the ebb and flow ( or ebb and more ebb /sigh) of prices.
P.s., regarding your "word from the author": I think "Call me Halada!" would make for a nice opening line. 100 Best 1st Lines
Thanks again!

I'm not too savvy when it comes to coding scripts... I can design websites in CSS/HTML/XHTML really well with some javascript thrown in. I like the idea of having dynamic tables show up, now that I no longer have a corp to run, I can concentrate on improving the guide. ★ LSJV now recruiting ★ |

Mornin' Halada. Just want to toss in my love for your guide in the massive love bucket (ewww) that is this thread.
Your guide helped me make my first billion in Eve. To see the wallet click over to the 10th digit for the first time was amazing. Thanks.
Good luck with the Eve break.

your guide off the web site says it is damaged. Or your manual just does not like me.
Well Lone Star Academy is still using the Haladian Mining System. It make management of the ops easy... We are also networking with a new 0.0 industry corp, using google documents spread sheet. I am trying to convince them to used the HMS to make things easier.. When you have tried the best, it is hard to try the rest.
see you on the mining field Halada.. The 0.0 corp does have a few things I have learned. Ie the Hidden belts produced by the infrastructure upgrades respawn if they are completely mined out..

could not be bothered to read through 10 pages of reply's to check if this was said or not but
Quote: 11.1 Mining Foreman Link ū Laser Optimization As I mentioned at the beginning of the section, the laser optimization link will reduce your cycle time (it doesnĘt affect ice harvesters by the way)
it does effect ice harvesters :) or something is wrong with my orca and mack :)

This might sound really simple, but I think it would be a great feature if you threw in a couple of fittings for the retriever and covetor just as you have done for the hulk. It would make stuff a lot easier for some people, including me, since I am a bit lost when it comes to knowing what I should, and what I should not fitt.
You mention stuff in different places of the guide, but perhaps something to make it a tad bit easier?

I have the 3.0 printed out and its been a huge help! i started a couple of weeks ago and Its been way easier since you're guide. I was also wondering, as i have the 3.0, whats different in the 3,1? (last updated march 15th 2010)
just so i know if its worth re printing or if i can just change a couple of pages.

Great guide I have been using it for years. Thank you! One thing though, you go into the implants that affect the yeild in mining but not th implants that affect the ice mining cycle time such as the Yeti series. Is there a reason for this?

Halada man, nice friggin job. I've been using this guide since I was a noob over 2 years ago, and it has only improved/grown. Thank you for your contribution to the EVE universe and community.
I'd like to contribute to your guide myself, I'd be interested in helping write and develop a Planetary Interaction section of your guide. I've been getting really into it since the CCs have been seeded, and it's quite a fun little mini-game, optimizing your links/routes, finding the different resource hotspots, etc. Profitability is still soon to be seen, but it's fun and interesting no matter what at least.
Contact me if you're interested.

I'm very grateful for this guide, it's helped me over the years to get a strong foundation in conducting sound mining operations. I'm now on to making a sturdy small sized corp, with strong industrial ops, all thanks to this guide.
Thank you much Halada.

I play with two accounts, one a miner, one a hauler and I would just like to make the following request.
In the next update, could you please add to your guide in the section regarding mining from a battleship, how damn annoying it it to look up at the screen and see that lasers have shut off because the hold is too small.
The 4K hold on a Covetor looks wonderfully big and the 8K hold on a Hulk is positively orgasmic!
If you like small go with a battleship!

I have used your guide since about my 5th day playing as I truly enjoy the industrial side of EVE... Many thanks to you and all of your hard work, it has helped me establish quite a lucrative business. I was just inquiring as to when the next update was going to be coming out. I was also hoping that some depth could possibly be added to the Rorqual section as it seems rather difficult to find a combined pile of information on what skills are needed to truly make this an efficient force to any Indy Op. Thanks again and I look forward to the continued workings of this fantastic guide!!!

Any Idea when we'll be able to download a copy of the mining system you talk about on your website? I've been looking for something to use for the corp I'm in and from what I remember from my brief time in LSJV it was a great program. Looking forward to being able to use it again.

Halada,
I thank you for the amazing guide. I made my way into Eve as a miner after reading version 2. I used to refer your guide to many pilots looking to be into mining as well.
Now, I am mad and really mad!!! I no wish to link your guide to new corp mates and buddies I meet in EVE. And I wish your thread get removed by CCP if you don't get rid of Google ads on your Website.
Do you realized, by your choice of making $ with Google ads, your website is giving links to bot miner softwares and isk sellers?
You are telling us: here are the skills to train then download the bot for your 10 accounts fleet....
If macro miners and isk sellers are a REAL concern for CCP, I wish they ban threads like yours cause your Website is giving links to them.
You chose to deal with Google ads. I am telling you, you give bad links for a healthy game. You chose deliberately to entice people to breach the EULA through a third party. If you chose to continue dealing that way and looks like you don't mind, and neither CCP, it shows a complete lack of ethic.... Macro mining is then almost legal!!!!
Don't tell me about free speech, free will or liberty lol. You chose to make cash whatever EULA can be and any third party you chose to deal with. YOU CHOSE TO HOST GOOGLE ADS WHATEVER THEIR CONTENT IS.

Just a quick hello. I was not subbed since February or so. I've re-subbed today and will ease back in the game at a very slow pace.
I'd really love to update the guide to reflect the recent changes, as I know many things are not out of date.
As for Google Ads, the revenue allows me to pay for the hosting and the guide is provided free of charge to all of you. You don't have to click them!

Hey Halada,
Great guide, I still reference it regularly, few things that require updating/possibly adding
- Rorqual Skill bonus now 10% per level, up from 5% (only works when in reconfig mode) - Mention that Material Level does nothing to Compression Blueprints - Mention that Productivity Level DOES help on compression blueprints (for 126 runs of Compressed dark glitter, it can save over 40minutes) - Mention the 'Extra Hauling' trick, by leaving completed jobs in the production lines - Mention new fuel bay, which can store both the isotopes and the Heavy Water for the industrial core - Mention Ore Hold on both Rorqual/Orca --------------------------------------
