Come on, no more expansions, features, walking on ****ing planets, walking in ****ing stations, T4 Ibis's, nothing. Just fix this **** and get it right.
We just want to play and not have every system shut down due to having more than 200 players in a hub.
This is pathetic.

Agree.
CCP needs to fix what's there and balance it before introducing new features. How about keeping existing customers rather than desperately grabbing for new ones?

Disagree. New content, mixed with massive hardware upgrades. Just like EvE is doing.
Why?
Because the programmers and developers in charge of new content would be useless in the IT and services department.
You'd basically be taking away from the game, not fixing bugs any faster. Just ensuring that nothing EVER ****ING CHANGES and we're constantly stuck with the same old game, the same old graphics, the same old mechanics. Boredom sets in, many players leave, game is pronounced 'dead' (for realz this time), end of story.
You have to develop new content. It's not only a positive sign for the game itself (go play SWG if you don't agree), but it's also crucial to holding customers interest and getting NEW customers.
If you had it you're way, the game would die.

At least do not release a boxed version and let all possible new subscribers log in at the same day.
All they will see is TONS of lag and stuff not working properly.
What do you think would be their first impression? A) Woaaaah, great game, want to subscribe NOW B) Woaaaah, what a crappy game, wasted money
So, yeah, next time wait a bit with boxed versions until you have a stable version running

Seriously, every expansion has problems when released, in a week or 2 it will all be stable so chill out!

Ok, I decree that you, OP, are now the person that fixes it... Get to work!
Tbh, I am fine with new expansions, the reason so much crap is going on now is because well.... THE THING JUST CAME OUT for the sake of ****.

I don't mind new shiny useful stuff, not even shiny new useless stuff. But when it's done at the expense of fixing broken stuff, I DO mind. How many of you STILL have any bug reports "attached to a defect" ? I know I do. And one it's from 2007.

Yeah, but great first impression for all the new people who got the boxed version, eh?
I don't know, but maybe the marketing guys there should do a bit more tech-talk with the dev guys there and not just tick off which features they can advertise?
Edit: Don't misunderstand me. I think the biggest expansion ever was well deployed and that not everything is running perfectly smoothly is okay and to be expected. Things will be resolved in short future and devs did a great job in such a nasty short time (though the insane short timeframe was a bad management mistake imo). But you can save all the advertisement money if you cannot deliver a smoothly running system when the boxed version is released.

I think that it is a sad thing that 90% of the time most games are 'released' when they are not finished these days. There are 'patches' left and right, anyone remember Battlefield 2? Joint Operations?
That said, I am actually happy with the expansion, for the most part. There are times when it kills my computer stone dead, but as for the quality of the product, I don't think much can be said against it. It is disappointing to see that there are crashes, lag and other problems, but with a game of this scope, there almost is no real way of testing it. There are millions of computer configurations out there, there's no real way of testing the game on everyone of them is there. I'm sure CCP have outsourced the testing, and they company that they outsourced it to did their very best, yet still there will be problems.
Essentially speaking though - if you don't like it don't play the game, I'm willing to bare with the difficulties now in the reliant hope that they will be fixed.

Agreed, since the expansion patch, I have experienced nothing but lock-ups, crashes, socket errors, socket closed errors, etc... Why include W-space when you can't even fix normal space?

no its even every 3 :D No seriously, its just normal that after such big content expansions anomalies occur 1 or 2 weeks after release. I dont get why people arent getting used to it. Things will be fine in a few days. No need to panic like ****.

I'm all for new stuff, but not when CCP rushes their development to make a deadline and then releases inadequately tested code. Expecting your subscribers to be your beta testers and to do a good job at it is hilarious.
I'd be perfectly happy with one "expansion" per year.

Absolutely true!
If they want to make two expansions, then why not two 'light' expansions?
I would have been perfectly fine with wormholes (filled with good NewEden goodies) without the whole tech3 stuff for example. Sleepers could have been discovered later in wormholes anyway and with them the whole tech3 stuff. Just as an example

So no more new features or expansions for a few weeks? You are right to rage about this issue. It's not like this happens after every expans...oh wait.

Agreed 100%. The game was fine as it was. There was no immediate need for an expansion. Maybe two years from now or so.
Also, CCP, please don't hype your expansions until they are ready. You could have made this expansion SILENTLY and WITHOUT letting anyone know you are working on it, then announce it a week before release when it's polished and ready. CCP does not have to rush their expansions unlike some other game devs, because EVE is a great game as is, and expansions only make it better. However that only happens when these expansions WORK, and don't screw up the game. Better have left things as they were until everything was ready instead of doing what was done.
Give us extra days on our accounts for all the days we couldn't play because of this "expansion"! I paid money to PLAY, not to sit at a gate and wait till it lets me in the system.

I got nothing wrong with changes and upgrades, nice to see new stuff once in a while, but just don't rush to get it out without testing it first. hurts everyone in the long run.

Go play an SOE game. They believe in EXACTLY this principle. It would suit you.
Don't hype expansions, or talk about anything you're doing until a week or two before release? Yep, that's what they do.
Don't release expansions except once a year, maybe every two? Yep.
Just so you know, Sony Online Entertainment is the WORST POSSIBLE ****ING GAME DESIGN GROUP TO EVER ****ING EXIST. To a 't', every one of their development principles sucks.
I like CCP just as they are. If you don't, is there not more promising places for you to be?

This is what I miss about the circa 1995 and older games. They were a finished product when they were released cause we all had 8MB Ram, 850MB Hard Drives anf 14.4kbps modems

Well said :-)
Used to play the original Everquest, and watching SOE slowly ruin and destroy it was quite amusing :-) And the first few expansions for that were pretty darn buggy and unstable, from what I remember.
Now if you want true amazing buggyness after patches and updates, you need to check out Anarchy Online. Initial release of that one was so buggy it blows my mind :P
CCP keep up the great work! New features + hardware upgrades = what it's all about!

QFT.
I had no problems downloading, upgrading, patching, etc. Am I playing right now? No. Because like every other MMO, when an expansion or heavy patch comes, so do the bugs and lag because there's absolutely no way for a developer to account for EVERY pc build, EVERY isp, EVERY connection, etc. There will always be bugs, and we just need to be patient for awhile while they're all ironed out.
And why do I have the feeling that the people who are the most pist are the ones who didn't think to set a LONG skill for training before the upgrades started? - - - Aloriana Jacques - Skill Sheet
