Neelan Minmatar Advanced Planetary Exports Intergalactic Exports Group	Posted - 2009.03.15 22:09:00 - [6] I'm surprised that I actually understood most of that =/ If read the EULA and the Terms of Service that you accepted when you started the game, then you'll notice that CCP can do what they want and get away with it, without having to give you a refund or anything. If you don't want to support the game, then leave, but please know that the amount of "physical" content that was included in the patch is the reason of it's size. You can't just make something smaller because you want it to be smaller, without seriously affecting the object in a negative way. I can assure you that the patch was not a single byte bigger than was absolutely necessary, so if you can't live with that, then too bad for you. If you wanted an idea of the patch sizes which were in play pre-launch of Apocrypha, then you should have paid more attention to the Game Development Forums where the stuff on the test server is discussed, the moment you saw the news post by CCP that Apocrypha had gone live on the test server! Back then the patch-sizes where sometimes TWICE as big, so CCP really did a lot of work on compressing the patch to make it as small as possible. And, for the love of GOD!, please bother to do some sort of grammar and spelling check on your forum posts! Thank you

Go show me which language he is coming from that allows him to know the words he's trying to use, but is completely incapable of getting their spelling even remotely close to the correct thing. I'm mildly dyslexic - a thought, flow and number dyslexic. Our neighbour is a writing and speech dyslexic. A friend of mine is mild to heavy number and writing dyslexic. You get different kinds of dyslexics - the op is not one of them; if he were truly that poor in his English capabilities he would not even be able to figure out where the forums are, let alone how to navigate to the forum related to the patches and then to formulate such a cunningly mashed up thread regarding them. So again, what language do you think he's coming from? Anyway, to the op: What of games like World of Warcraft and its content expansions? That game is over 11gb for an installation to the latest expansion now, and some people buy the expansions online and download them. What of games like Team Fortress 2 and its recent mini-expansion? What of constant map downloads for other games? What of the often large updates for other games? Long does not mean maybe two days long, it means a month long, in case things go wrong. The size of the patch is irrelevant - they could just as well have made it 10gb; it ends up being your choice whether or not you will download it or just go get the box set (which actually works out fairly inexpensive if you take into consideration the fact that it includes some game time, covering a large portion of its cost) --- Incognito - Fierce - Deadly - IFD (Intergallactic Federation of Dummies) aka ATN Ikari Dimji > I mustn't run away...
