I also notice when I look at my standing with various corps is that one in particular is getting rather low. Besides the concord. Some sort of military academy.
It seems that I have killed a number of members of that corp. I do not kill n00bs. Anyone who has been playing under a month is nor a valid target in my book. But there were on two occasions that I have killed members of this corp. My standing against that corp is now -1.5 or something like that. What does this mean and what are the consequences.

i think the actual applied value for podding someone is -0.75 sec. and as siddy said you get a sec hit for attacking and a second for destroying a ship.
although for some typically weird reason they dont always get applied so even if you kill a ship it doesnt get listed or added to your sec status history.
go figure -

Why answer such a thread if you arent 100% sure you got the facts straight?
The right values are, as stated before, -12.5% for pod killing, -2.0% for ship killing, -0.5% for the intital aggression. If you blow up someone's can (watch them smartbombs) you get another -2.0% too. Imo that's really weird, cause if you just empty the can there's no criminal act involved. Hello?

Slightly out of the spirit of the topic but why are we getting sec hits for hitting gates in 0.0? These things are invulnerable so what does it matter if you sit at a gate smartbombing smartarse frigate instajumpers and hit the gate.
Is this a bug? Apologies if this topic has been debate somewhere else, just asking because I'm bored at work.

OK - I'm sorry but I gotta ask. The values that have been quoted are percentages. So how are they actually applied to a persons current sec status. I'm sure it's simple and obvious but I just don't get it
Thanks |

The real numbers are something like this. Keep in mind that I was very close to 0.0 when I was doing my killing.
0.5% hit for starting agression = 0.05 in actual sec hit. 2.0% for destroying a ship = 0.2 in actual sec hit 12.5% for podding = 1.6 in actual sec hit.
The problem is that when you podded some one, you probably started agressing, and you were also probably the one doing the ship killing too. So therefore you get hit with a combined whammy of 1.85 in actualy sec hits.
Now as you move lower and lower on the sec status, you get lower and lower actual hit penalties. Hence why these are percentages and not actuals that get reported. I believe that the forumal is that you get a percentage hit of the difference between your current sec status and -10.0 at least so I have been hearing.
