Maybe not allow them in the same grid as the wormhole itself? Spacial disturbance and all that.
Still means opportunities for bubbling near moons and signals etc.

I will dare to say that once the first excitement of WH's die's down there will probably be a whole lot less people looking/using/etc them & I will even go as far as to say that it may even end up with WH's being like lowsec where very few people even bother trying to go any more.
Either way I don't think WH's are going to stay on the top of many people's agendas for too much longer so the camping and bubble issue will probably not change until people start getting sick of hanging around at WH's for hours on end for nothing.
Would be great if bubbles didn't work in the area of a WH due to the interference caused by the WH (well thats what I would expect seeing they have only just appeared and the factions really haven't yet had time to re-engineer their technologies to cope with issues that WH's cause)
Anyway have fun.

No. W-space is like 0.0. That is all.
Kick the pirates in the face, especially when they're stuck in their own bubble, steal their loot, salvage their wrecks, and collapse the wormhole behind you, so they have to pod themselves home, and yell 'how-yarrr-like that!' in the delayed local before you leave.
That is how you deal with the problem.

It's only a real word if you consider mistakes perpetrated by enough people for long enough suddenly become correct.
Wow, so the whole American version of English should be removed?

Wspace is space that is uncharted and not controlled, you should do what you want in them. No exception.
This is not WoW.
This is supposed to be bases at least a bit on reason, not some magical space systems that does not allow some mechanics since it "hurts people"

Exactly. If you get popped at the entrance to a wh by a gank force then just remember what the gankers were flying and get a superior force of implantless alts in cheap t1 fitted insured cruisers and go back and take them out or at least kill what you can and close the wh trapping the pirates in. That should put a damper on the casual pirates enthusiasm. Of course this hinges on empire players working together but at least its doable with no silly game mechanic changes.

While I mostly agree, I wonder what the reasoning is behind not being able to deploy cyno's. You can't deploy cyno's in w-space, right?
What about jumpgates? Not sure if they require sovereignty or not.

Well to me bubbles are nessesary for an active defense force who constantly scans for new wh to effectively police the space and keep out or at least limit the mobility of unwanted aggressors. As far as no cyno type of jumping for cap ships and such its to keep someone from sending in a cov ops then popping a cyno to bypass the wormhole mass limits mechanic. Rp wise it can be explained away as you need the precise coordinates provided by the jump gate netwok to be able to have a cap ship jump to a frigate with a cyno generator and since w-space has no gate network you get no cynos with enough precision to be usable.

I hate bubbles. Always have, always will. They're as cheap and mindless as cheap, mindless tactics come.
That said, they are almost a non-issue in W-space. If you jump into one, just jump back out. You aint gonna get stuck or killed unless the 'hole collapsed behind you.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Nah, it's happened before. I'm sure of it. Just don't ask me for a link.

Rarely and never twice in a row I think.
About the topic of this thread:
- the bubbles at the entry point of the wormholes are there and will stay, it is one of the standard system by CCP to increase PvP;
- remember that the wormholes systems can have several entry point, so a pirate group that want to control all of them will be either stretch very thin or move in the w-system some very large force. Both options reduce the overall efficiency of the pirates and make it more risky for them ;
- a group of explorers that want to control the entry point while "farming" the w-system will have even worse problems, as they will need a fleet to fight the Sleepers/mine the gas, ecc. and a group to gatecamp every WH. So mostly for them the mobile bubbles will do the function of a early warning system, meant to delay a potentially hostile group while the players doing PvE activities disengage themselves and gather as single group.
All considered I think it is best for the game to allow bubbles in WH space.

LOL.. did you even read the original post? To Reiterate..
Originally by: Denaris Aschanna What I'd actually like to see is WSpace made harder for everyone. I'd love to see bubbles not function near a wormhole - anywhere else in WSpace, fine. I'd really love to see the sleepers actively search out players in their space involved in PvP combat, and take on everyone they find.
Let's get one thing clear - This post isn't a whine, nor have I lost any ships whilst exploring this new phenomenon, and I don't intend to. I'm not quitting EVE, so no, you can't have my stuff!
@Balendin - try learning some reading comprehension before you call me a moron.. the words pot, kettle, black spring to mind.

The randomness of sleeper aggro and their high damage DOES make things hard for pirates. Normal tacklers are very fragile, but dictors can drop a bubble and get out... hictors with their bubbles indeed seem absolutely DESIGNED for use in W-space.

Yes they did. It's that little yellow arrow in the bottom corner of the screen that launches you ship into space. I think it says "undock", but the actual meaning is "accept PvP". ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Which is why I use hictors in WSpace when I've scanned someone down at a sleeper site. As I've said before I don't have a problem with their general use in WSpace, I just find it a bit lame when it's used to trap people entering; personally I find it a lot more fun AND profitable if you trap people at sleeper sites.
That said, I hadn't considered their use at wormholes to trap people leaving, that is a valid point, so -1 to me there
