Bit of that, yes. But not all critisism is whining either. The new fitting window certainly has potential, but it broke alot of things. In that sense, highlighting the issues with it is pretty constructive. Bringing the best of two worlds would be an improvement at any point.
What does it break?

Originally by: Amarrbone Seems like an option to go between the "Classic" fitting window and the "New" fitting window would make sense. I personally do about %80+ of my fitting tests offline, then pop on and jack the stuff I want onto the ship.
This seems like a good compromise as I don't think any added functionality was added w/ the new window (aside from fitting saves). The only reason to really look at your ship is for T3 which applies to no one atm.
I personally like the new fitting screen, but it definitely seems like there is a decent split in the community so its not just people needlessly whining imo.

Originally by: Richard Third How about displaying the names of the modules that the ship is fit with? Now that would be helpful IMHO.
The names instantly pop up if you hover over them.

Also i wanna be able to look at modules on my ship even if i'm not in that ship. I'm always looking for a module and i can't remember where i put it.
Agreed. I dont know why this hasnt been added yet. The fact I have to use EvE-Commander for this should embarrass CCP.

Does it need to be repeated for the fourth time that your ship is already RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE without the newfangled ship-in-the-fitting-window?
I thought it would be pretty obvious that different people have their stations setup different ways. Personally I always have my instation items and ships windows open as well as my cargo for my current ship. Thus if I open the fitting tool and started making adjustments, I would have to close/resize all of those windows just to see the effect on my ship.
Just because you view your station in one way doesn't mean everyone else views it the same.
But to answer your question, no, it doesn't need to be repeated. It was ignored the first time because it was ignorant.

Originally by: Wet Ferret Right, because some people have their windows covering their whole screen they needed to add a bloated new ship view to the fitting window. You know, personally, I don't like having the fitting window all over my screen when fitting a ship, but hey... different strokes right?
I'm not justifying their execution, I am explaining why your counter argument is narrow minded. If you are going to make suggestions that are so narrow, you should not complain about other people's arguments or support since yours relates specifically to how you view the game.
