WHY WHY WHY did yous change it. It takes even more time to drag and drop stuff.
I love the new ship setup thing that you can save, why didn't they just add it to the existing ship setup window.
What is the point of the ship in the middle of the window, your own ship is already behind the window...
Also everything is so small have to nearly squint to see where I'm hitting the mouse.
1. Takes much more time to fit a new ship.. 2. Windows are too small.. 3. Colour scheme is BORING.. 4. Window isn't automaticlly transparent..
REst of the patch was cool, THIS JUST SUCKS DONKEY BALLS. Yea I'm WHINING and yea some cheese plz..

Heh, that was the first thing I noticed. "Hey, this new fitting screen is almost entirely taken up by this.. uhm, duplicate display of my ship? WTF?"
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Allot of people are put out cause they can't even run EVE with their computers now, and have to buy new ones.
CCP's response: Possibly upgrading the req's even further come this winter.
So I doubt Kaeten's "official thread" will make much of a ripple. Anyone else?

Lots of things I don't like(yet) about the new patch, new (locator) agent interface, new fitting screen, new probing method etc etc. However most of that is just things to get accustomed to and a fair few things were made better. While I hate it I probably wouldn't want to change it back - atleast not until I'm accustomed to it. Parrots, commence!

Agree on the comment regarding the transparency. Got most my stuff in EVE on transparent, max or somewhere semi- at least. This new window is ****ing me off in regards of how much of my screen it's taking up, and can't see through.
Originally by: Morel Nova you need to show the ship so you can see what you are doing with the T3 ships
The modular stats would (should) be more important to see than the looks, but yah, the resistance and slot-display on the new fitting window might help a bit for the lazy ones.
Overall it's some nice upgrades with the new window, but it needs some tweaking. Size adaptation and transparency would be step one. -

Colour scheme is BORING.. <Boo hoo, change it through the options.> 4. Window isn't automaticlly transparent.. <When it was transparent it was too hard too see what you were doing because the windows in the back made it too hard too see>

Because the ship sitting in the hangar just isn't good enough? Hell you can even get a better view of it there, it just doesn't look like it's in space.
They could have fit all of that other information in a more compact window to allow a better view of the ship in station, spared themselves some work and spared us all a lot of redundancy.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

I was hoping the ship in the fitting screen would be some sort of cool wire frame blueprint model like the Apocrypha video hinted at

I must say I really like the new fitting display. So much of eve feels like "playing" microsoft excel, so it adds a bit more of a game feel to it.
Also about people being upset that their computer can't run the new client, I really am tired of hearing this problem. Think about all of us who actually have decent computers who have had to run those outdated graphics for so long because you thought a P4 was still acceptable in this age.
Seriously now a day you can spend about $500 and get a tower with a 3.0 dual core and 4 gig of ram which would run this fine.

Never. But in spite of that regarding the functionality the new fitting window is still worse than the old one. Looks nicer but who cares?

Bit of that, yes. But not all critisism is whining either. The new fitting window certainly has potential, but it broke alot of things. In that sense, highlighting the issues with it is pretty constructive. Bringing the best of two worlds would be an improvement at any point.
But well, there's also the fact that you can't please everyone. We all like different things. GIMME MY TRANSPARENCY and let me resize the damn thing already! -

totally hate the new fitting window. Totally hate it.
Looks like thry injected a monkey full of dope and had him arrange the controls in stupid places. and they removed the shortcuts.... 90% or the time i was dragging modules to the fit window.... now..?
I want to drag a module to the fit window. Also i've had problems with fitting when i'm getting close to cpu limit. -- You can't do that with a Planet. |

It 'broke' certain things by making them worse. It's taking more space for example, which affects other windows on your screen. Another thing is the size of the buttons, which doesn't affect me personally but the OP seems to have issues with it. A third being that it's so bloody thick/no transparency option. For me personally this is a major hangup.
I didn't mean gamebreaking, I was talking about breaking previously viable things. Either case, it's a small issue. I'd never post a thread about "fixing" this fitting screen as I can live with it. Tho I'd love to have improvements to certain aspects that are worse now than they used to be.
That's the constructive part I was talking about. -

I at first did not like the mods around the edge of the circle, but at the end of the day I am able to fit a ship much faster with the new fitting window.
* One click to open cargo * Roll over mod and you have one click options to unfit/info/online * Can save/load setups * Better stats about your ship setup
I think CCP did a great job. Of course you will ALWAYS have people that whine when things change. It is part of life.

Seems like an option to go between the "Classic" fitting window and the "New" fitting window would make sense. I personally do about %80+ of my fitting tests offline, then pop on and jack the stuff I want onto the ship.

This seems like a good compromise as I don't think any added functionality was added w/ the new window (aside from fitting saves). The only reason to really look at your ship is for T3 which applies to no one atm.
I personally like the new fitting screen, but it definitely seems like there is a decent split in the community so its not just people needlessly whining imo.

just thought of a useful feature for a fitting window.
How about displaying the names of the modules that the ship is fit with? Now that would be helpful IMHO.
Also i wanna be able to look at modules on my ship even if i'm not in that ship. I'm always looking for a module and i can't remember where i put it.

The names instantly pop up if you hover over them.

Agreed. I dont know why this hasnt been added yet. The fact I have to use EvE-Commander for this should embarrass CCP.

Hmmmm, is this the Luddite thread? I don't mind the new setup window. I just had to learn how to use it (and unlearn how to use the previous one). What do you need from a setup screen anyway? The two most important features are: Save Setup and Load Setup.

Does it need to be repeated for the fourth time that your ship is already RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE without the newfangled ship-in-the-fitting-window? Can you give a good argument for why we needed another of something we already had? Does it serve any purpose at all? And the damned thing takes up half the screen FFS.
Of course it isn't needless whining. The UI needs better functionality, not absolutely useless fluff. How about getting the effective HP to take active modules into account, for starters? "No way! We need another display of the ship!"
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

I thought it would be pretty obvious that different people have their stations setup different ways. Personally I always have my instation items and ships windows open as well as my cargo for my current ship. Thus if I open the fitting tool and started making adjustments, I would have to close/resize all of those windows just to see the effect on my ship.
Just because you view your station in one way doesn't mean everyone else views it the same.
But to answer your question, no, it doesn't need to be repeated. It was ignored the first time because it was ignorant.
