Here's a thought.
What if using a warp scrambler on a gate would cause it to not let anyone on that side jump through?
Naturally that would trigger a GCC.

Exactly.
I would like to see an option of locking down a gate. If something like this would be implemented I would like to see it in terms of an anchorable structure like warp disruption buble which prevents outgoing but not incoming jumps so you always can get to the structure and blow it up to release the lock, system wide or even constelatioin wide warning that a certain gate is locked down when you enter and display on the map that the gate is locked down so everyone knows which gate is locked down. Basic idea would be that you can lock down a gate but it takes time, sovereighnity, an anchorable structure that can be blown up and everyone knows that you locked down a gate and can come, check it out and blow up your gate lock.

This way carebears could actually stay in Jita. Oh wait...

maybe some kind of structure u need to anchor near a stargate that add a password to the stargate. If u want to jump in from the other side u need to enter the number combination. Maybe we can add a soverenity rule to it, example need sov 3 or 4 to anchor it. That would prevent abuse.

This is a bad idea that would further gridlock / lock down 0.0 sov areas and make the alliances more entrenched and limit independant travel. ~ Santiago Fahahrri Galactic Geographic |

For you and anyone else who failed to understand, that wouldn't work.
Unless... you can't kill even an itty bitty newbie ship?
Players A and B are in a 0.0 system. Player A goes to a gate and locks it.
Player B tries to go through the gate Player A has locked, but can't. It's locked. He would have to stop Player A scramming the gate in whatever way he sees fit.
However, Player C on the other side of that gate can still jump through just fine.

hmm what about: 1.Gates can only be locked in 0.0 2.Only Supercapitals can lock gates 3.The Suprecapital is locked like a siege mode for some time 4.Only one gate can be lock in a system
No before we can lock a pipe down maybe we need some counter. We are already playing with supercapitals, so lats say that only blacktops/recons and covert ops, can hack there way in the system via that locked gate. What they do after are make a cynosural field (if the system isnĘt jammed that is), and instant jumpfun

Not this idea again. CCP isn't going to lock people into or out of systems. It stops gameplay and is a really lame attempt at making null-sec into hi-sec without Concord. Null-sec is already safer than hi-sec if you are in a large alliance that works together. No need to lock down gates to achieve it. ------------------------------------

I doubt they'd be able to leave Jita whether this idea is considered or not. Entering that place is like entering an event horizon.

For a start, the gate size should be decreased to what it used to be. The new gates have too freaking huge activation range :(
