Money can't buy happiness.

Indeed!
To answer the OP's question, there was a good discussion with someone who was trading with 50+ Billion in capital in Jita. I have no illusion that he is the "richest among them all" however. Just a real-life example, anyway.

Trading with 50b in Jita is hardly rich. A good start, but not even close.

i dont think 50bill will cut it anymore, back in 2004 i was one of the richest players on the server, scooring 2 of the first tech 2 bpo's in the first days of the lottery, my capital then netted around 50bill, (i burned most of that isk on one hell of a war instead of re-investing it)
now this was only 2 bpo's and it was 5 years ago, today i know people who owns around 20-30 or even more tech 2 bpo's, got big moon mining operations and build their own outposts. so im geussing we got people on the server today that got assets that nets over 500b, and maybe their wallets aswell.

I know someone who trades Jita with about 15 alts and has about a trillion in escrow constantly.... im sure he's got a couple trillion ... now if only the bastard would undock
but in reality your not going to ever find out who's who. The really rich people don't tell you who they are... same as in real life... the people who own the world aren't talking. ----------------------- The answer is 42 |

Its many trillions, put simply, the market size is huge (especially in jita) smart trading can grow almost any amount of isk by at least 20% per week (actually a lot more is possible), people do this day in day out for years, figure it out :)

For some reason I don't believe that statement.
Maybe I'm just a cynic, maybe I've actually had experience trading with close to 100B or maybe I've seen highly skilled people at places like EBANK never achieve returns anywhere near that with amounts on the order of 100B, let alone a trillion ISK. I'm not sure why but I just feel like you're full of it.

I'd agree that while an exceptional 20% week now and then might be doable even with huge amounts of ISK, 20% week-in, week-out for a long time sounds like an awful grind, if even possible.
On the other hand, if you had 100 billion ISK two years ago (as some certainly did), you'd need only 3% weekly (compounding weekly) to be over 2 trillion ISK today, and that sounds more readily doable.

my guess is that the richest corps/character live in china. they pay people 25 cents an hour to trade/farm all day so that they can sell their isk on websites. those are the richest in terms of isk. they probably have hundreds and hundreds of billions of isk sitting on mules.
the next richest (people who actually play the game) is probably one of the major alliance leaders or corps. some have been around for a super long time and they make bank with moon minerals.
