greetings friends, cat here
i just found out about a feature which i am wondering if it is a game breaker
if you view a players profile in game and there is a button called 'show contracts' you can see all the deals the player has made
this seems a bit wrong to me

All the more reason for using alts for my contracts then :)
I wasn't aware of this before, but it will definitely make me scam in more anonymous ways in the future.

Because you can see the officer fitted carrier they just bought for example?
In real life, a deal is between the buyer and the seller. If I buy a car, it is not public record that I did so. In eve, it apparently is.

If you buy it from publicly listed contracts, yes. Private contracts only show on the history if you're one of the parties involved. That and stop trying to compare game mechanics with real life. |

i have never taxed any cars because i dont drive lol it was just an example
it is not game breaking for you to buy the thing but if i was at war with you or you are a pirate then i would know what to expect
i would be able to see all the officer things that were on the ship when you bought it which tells me that you have lots of isk and that you bought an officer carrier

Perhaps before you think the sky is falling, when you look at your own contracts yes it will show every contract you did. If I were to look at your contracts it would only show the PUBLIC ones.
If you used a PRIVATE contract it will only show it to you and the person who made the contract.
You guys are a bunch of paranoid whiners.

I hadn't noticed said feature, which I suppose could yield the slightest advantage every now and then. I'm not that concerned about it, but it is something to take into consideration. Just another reason to use alts, I guess.

It's most annoying, I contracted something to an alt of mine just once (some kind of deadspace module for 0 isk) so now everyone who looks at contract history will know it's me.
