If they were going to do a movie or better yet a mini-series or tv show, HBO or Showtime would be the place to do them on. 5 out of 6 of the shows I actually enjoy watching on tv are on those channels because they are the only ones that actually have interesting and well developed characters in them and they are the kings of high production value in a tv setting.

Thing is, the BBC is just another TV station to the rest of the world. They've got some good shows, and just like most stations, a LOT of bad shows. Remember, not everyone lives in Europe. In North America the BBC is not seen with the same light as back home. I watch several shows that are produced by the BBC. Top Gear being one. But the vast majority of BBC shows I can't stand.
If CCP was to do a "Movie" make it a real damned MOVIE. Big budget, REAL actors, not actors hired for their names, but people who can ACT.
Make it a Trilogy at LEAST. Then you could do longer stories. Make each movie at least 2 hrs long, 2.5hrs would be better. One Long continous plot line.
They'd be better off doing it from the eye of a new pod pilot. Have him join one of the major 0.0 alliance's, and we follow his life through that. We'd get to see him/her as they progress from Frigates, to Cruisers, to BC's, to BS's.
TV Mini Series rarely get the funding/have the vision to do justice to the story they need to tell.

I think id like to see the conspiracy theorists plot rather than the full on reality one.
Students around the globe log into a 'game' where the stakes are higher than they could ever imagine. Linked by computer and software to technology that apparently doesn't exist they unknowingly create and manage a new galactic order and take control of the 'game' entering into a war where the ultimate loss is the loss of our own planet.
Can the junked up generation do it....
meh.

If they did make an EVE movie the best story they could tell would be that of the Gallente attack on the Caldari Home world.

I would love to see a movie made from Eve, or one with with some the aspects of space travel that Eve brings that hasent been done in a film before. I think they could even have a movie on just a belt miner. Pump up the action of course, show us how it works inside, maybe have a system failer, or priate attack, and show them trying to fight them off. I think Ronald D Moore, should be the director and eveyone he had working with him on Battlestar Galactica. He did a great job with the new Battlestar Galactica |

TV series tbh... Start episode 1 based on the old intro vid, ending with EVE-gate collapse. Then just let some good writers use the eve-universe as a base to build on. Would be awesomeness incarnate. ---

I think if there is was EVE movie, It should take place before Pod Pilots and capusle tech. Of course it would require insane special effects wish might cost a bits of money. Theres lots of epic events that have taken place before the capsuleers roamed the stars, just tell a good story and maybe end it with the introduction of pod-tech. Plus if they can turn Postal into a movie I can see them makin a eve movie, just dont have uwe boll make it. If I had a choice director - Timur Bekmambetov, he's amazing.

Cors is right about the BBC.
The one thing I see is that EvE probably doesn't have a whole lot to offer in terms of storyline. Its a computer game where the developers have spent a lot of time designing and balancing the combat. Even if they're a bit nerf hammer happy. There is nothing wrong with the story they made up, but I wouldn't call it epic storytelling at its greatest.
The best movie I could imagine somebody making out of EvE is where some producer already has a really good idea about a science fiction story that he wants to tell. If he was willing to accept the EvE backstory, and the product tie in, he would have access to the very well developed combat engine. It would give him the ability to make space combat scenes equivalent to some of the hard science fiction some writers insert into their books.
David Weber's Honor Harrington series is a good example. Its corny. Its a direct rip off of Horatio Hornblower. And it delivers in depth space combat.
Thats what EvE could bring to the table. Damn, the producer could even go to the trouble of simulating the combats in game. I think people would agree that some of the alliance tournament battles made for good stuff. Of course you would have to spice up the graphics. But using the game as a model...
Thats the only way a decent EvE movie could come to be. I wouldn't say DOOM was a bad movie but I would hate to have EvE: The Movie be at all like that.
In the meantime go watch Clear Skies again.
