I like it, even more so if we had additional hotkeys.
Maby something like [Key1] + [Key2] + [NumPad 0-9] for a quick way to select orbits? (in 10k increments)

This. Different ships, fittings, ammo types, need different orbit ranges too, it's a pain to change it every time or alternatively having to take a lucky pick from the default hoping to get something close to usefull.

I find I'm always tinkering with my default depending on the task at hand. Having a few default orbit ranges would be great.
