I am still getting a pause when running the cron job on the first valid forum member. I am working with v2.1.1 and downloaded the new files but also checked the "new" cron job included with v2.1 package and noticed that they are identical other than the date on the v2.1 is from 10/08/09 and has the id error on line 25.
If you could check that they are the updated versions that would be a real help.

Both of the archives have the current cron job in them. Neither contains the typo I had on line 25 as of this posting. The cron job is identical in both releases, as I updated both archives when I updated the cron job (since it isn't written into the actual forum software, I don't have to worry about compatibility issues).
I've also responded to your EVEMail.

Cron job problem sorted. Turned out to be an issue with local caching of the downloaded archives. Revised cron job currently out is a confirmed fix for it.

Is it possible to do something like this easily:
1. Add a function (from the Admin control panel) that runs a check on all the users of the board, and remove all "roles" on everyone without an API-key attached to them?
2. Run a validation so that those that eg. leave the corp. automatically get their "roles" removed.

1) I could add that functionality. I've been halfway tempted for a bit to integrate the cron job into the admin panel as a custom module too. Would like everyone's thoughts on that idea.
2) Could add that to the cron job where you can set it to either de-activate users or remove them from the permissioned groups they're attached to.

Oh, and
3. Run a re-check so that corp-members that didn't get any "roles" get them once they're actually inside the corporation?

Point two is a fantastic idea. If a member leaves my corp, it would be cool if they could still have access to the public forums.
It would be awesome if you could basically define rules for different corps. So for example, a member of Corp X is added to Group X, and Corp Y is added to Group Y. But any other corp not defined in the rules can be added to a generic group. Or just the registered users group.
Gotta say, this is one excellent mod, Valek. It works great and I've also linked MediaWiki to the phpBB user tables too. The cool thing with that is it checks to see if a user is in a specific phpBB group. Everything is controlled through the phpBB groups. And if an account is deactivated through the cron job, it also disallows them access to the wiki. Freaking cool!
I have sent you a donation. It's not a lot, but hopefully you can buy a nice new toy with it :D

Double check your database to make sure everyone's character ID is entered in there. If it's not, please run the characterid.php file included with the archive. Also, please make sure you have the latest versions of api_cron.php and characterid.php. Last update to them was August 13th, for bugfixing and a bit of optimization.

Add a semicolon to the end of line 14. My mistake. Typoed it apparently.
Updated the archives to fix this error.

Cool that resolved the problem thanks.
Just a quick note, i know that a new account will have their character picture made their avatar. Is there a way for the current members to have there character avatar brought across or is this planned for a future release of the mod.
But great work so far.

User Crontrol Panel. Go to the Profile section, and edit your avatar settings. You'll see a checkbox that says Download next to it. Make sure that's checked and the dimension blocks are blank, and submit the form, and they'll get their character portrait.
Also, if you thin 64 x 64 is too small, but 256 x 256 is too big, set the avatar size for EVE avatars to 256 x 256, and fill the dimension blocks with 128 and 128 when you go to download the character portrait =)

Still actively bugfixing if you encounter any "unintended features". Updates in this thread will be maintained by IceBlade Rage, but I will still be working on it actively.

Hey thanks for the great modification, though I am having trouble with running the cronjob, I have set the verification based on my Alliance, but when ever it runs, it just makes all the users in the group inactive, and they have put in their API, proof being able to retrieve their character's Avatar, even my character is getting blocked, any suggestions? P.S. I set the time to do the check 2 hours after downtime

Anoru,
I had this same problem in were all the accounts when the cron job was run got disabled.
I hadn't run the characterID.php file first to download all the character ID numbers for each account. As when the cron job runs it requires this along with the API user ID and API Key.
Try running this first and then the cron job and it should help.

Thanks you.
Ive currently got the Nonmember Group set to the default PHPBB registerd users group. Is this ok?
Also, do people have to register with their in game names?
Also, I am currently using the alliance Validation method, works. I want to also add users to another group depending on corporation as long as they pass the alliance validation.
An easy way would be to create groups with the exact same name as the corp names 1st, then let the module add them as it validates the alliance?
How can I add this?

Edited by: IceBlade Rage on 27/08/2009 01:59:11 It is fine to use registered member for the non-member group. We do that for our board currently.
As far as name, yes, currently they have to use their in-game name to register, as the mod uses this information to pick the character it needs to check.
As far as seperate groups based on corp, while checking against alliance membership. Currently you will have to do this manually, however as Valek has stated, this is something he would like to add the mod in a future version. I will check with him to see if he has any idea on a timeframe for this addition.

Ive already automated it with the cron script. Aswell as just deleting permissions instead of disabling the account.

What do I have to change in the cronjob to make it not so ******ed? I would like it to just move whatever user is no longer in the corp/alliance to the registered users section instead of making them inactive accounts, that was a dumb idea in my opinion, but anyway, I would like some guidance on that one lol

A set of diffs for patching a stock phpbb3 install would be a nice alternative to hand editing everything. Pretty please? :D

Valek says that is on the todo list. The cronjob script needs more work to be able to support what you want to do.
