The only problems with the Claw, is its tiny CPU and the cost/insurance ratio:(
The rifter is a great ship, and works well at range or close up. 250mm might be better until your skills are up, as they track much better, and don't rely on how you fly, as much as the 280mm.
The biggest tip with artillerys is to minimise your transversal velocity, which you can see on your scanner (look under settings) practice with some corp mates, you need to try and fly with your opponent, so that you don't move much relatively, if you can pull this off, at speed, then your safe, and they'll die :D -----------

OK I change my mind. The Rifter is THE uber frig ( I can fly all exept amarr). First of all the incredible speed. I used a 10 mn ab and could fly 2km/s. ANd its so agile too. I could orbit at 500 km ( the gravity kept me at 1200m) with a speed at 1200 m/s. And since I only can use hybrids I fitted ionblaster. It worked great even tho I hardly have any gunnery skills. small hybrid at lvl 3 and medium hybrid at lvl 1 only but thats because I have most missile skills. But still I took out a drug baron like this and hardly took any damage from the sentinels. If I get a mill in gunnery skills I hope it would improve however but gosh it was fun. I think I`m going to park my cruisers and my dominix for a few weeks. I am so glad I trained minmitar frig

The rifter is probably the best tech1 frigate for taking on bigger ships. It's fast, agile, and hits like a ton of bricks.
2x200mm 2xRockets 1xMWD 1xWarp Scrambler 2xCPR

Any suggestions on what better to fit and what skills and LvL's needed to fit them would be greatly appreciated. I cant fit any bigger a turret or a Rocket/Missile launcher unless I fit andother Micro Aux Power Core, but doing that removes that low slot to any other uses, but if anyone suggests that that extra low should be put towards better wepons, i've been thinking about that, but I dunno if its worth it.

Cap. Flying around in a Breacher with an MWD is a pain in the ass. You'll continually need to warp twice to get to gates. Also, personally, I prefer turrets over missiles. 3x 200mm guns on a Rifter wtfpwns.

I may be a little slower, but with the AB and good fuel conservation skill lvl I can run the 10MN AB and a Warp Scrambler forever. Using a MWD and a warp scrambler makes alot of cap trouble for me.
Oh and I just checked. To have 3 200mm turrets i'll need not only a micro aux, but a CPR as well, so that decides what goes in the extra low slot, LoL тттттттттттттттттттттттттт ROFLBURGERS тттттттттттттттттттттттттт

Rifter together with the Kess is the most cost effective way to do dmg in game. The Kess is like driving a buss but then again it got some tricks to.
My standard fitting is as most got printed down allready.
Hi: 3x200mm and a launcher Mid: 1xMWD/10 MN AB and a weber Low: small armor repair and a T1 dmg mod
It goes fast, hits hard and if thing go crap just get out lick wounds and get back in.

1x shield booster 1x afterburner
1x armor repairer 1x damage mods for guns

To those of you that are using 200mm guns and orbiting at 5K, how do your guns hit the bad guys? It looks like the optimal range for a stock 200mm is 1K with a 4K accuray falloff. So, like at 5K, can you even hit stuff?
I use two rocket launchers with foxfire rockets, two 125mm autocannons with EMP ammo and orbit at 500 meters. I would say that 90% of my damage is done by the rockets, as the guns don't hit for squat.
So, how do I get these stinkin' guns to hit better? ------------------------------------So many skills, so little time... |
