Join United, they have ships change on killmails all the time. Your issue should fit in well there mate.

Great kill and that's funny as hell they tried and cover it up for embarrassment. Just goes to show you that the rule about not posting KM's with names is crappy.
edit.. btw to the op, if you are looking for a corp hit me up in game, we are new players that are into PvP as well.

A good KM thread with with a good story is bloody rare, especially if you are reading the old C&P. I had a good lulz at the united KB fiasco as well. Double winnage.

lol Speaking of these tools in Rancer.. I was on my way to Jita taking the short path through low sec in a Reaper, only to get gate camped killed & podded by these morons.
Looks like they were too embarrassed to post a Reaper kill and only posted the pod..Maybe if I give it time they will make my kill something big and important.. Who knows maybe my Reaper will morph into a Typhoon or a Maelstom soon..

Nice job taking it on solo.
Just goes to show what a piece of crap the Arazu is. Falcon would jam it's way out. Rapier would web, get distance, and kill the Rifter. Pilgrim would just laugh and omgwtfbbq the Rifter. Arazu however? Arazu just dies.

I think the Arazu losing to the Rifter has more to do with the Arazu pilot being a complete failure at EVE rather than the ship being horribly imbalanced (It is a weak recon, but not that weak)

The OP already said that the Arazu was catching up to him with his MWD. For some reason the arazu didn't turn tail and keep his distance. Piloting error was the cause of this death, not the ship.

Edited by: jlangerud on 10/04/2009 22:35:49 OP said something about a scrambler. If it was a scram, he had no mwd to burn away from said Domi (Rifter). That might explain him not burning out of range. Good job Op on the kill.

Read more carefully - the OP had a 60 km point and a MWD. The Arazu easily had the capability to control range. He should have launched drones, held the Rifter out at range to minimise angular velocity and sniped him. If it went wrong, he should have just warped out.
tl;dr: Arazu pilot fails hard. Send me your ISK and quit.

Well I certainly wouldn't disagree that it was crappy piloting on the part of the Arazu.
However, you are missing the point of my comment. Once the Arazu gets into that situation (frig at close range) it's dead. The other 3 recons have methods of extricating themselves, whereas the Arazu does not. So the fact that it is a crap ship has plenty to do with the idiot getting killed.

Not really, he just should have used Warrior II's, I remember killing a Rapier in a Jaguar despite dual webs, the bastard should've used warriors, his hammerheads only tickled a bit.

This, Arazu was set up to work in a gang or to kill solo ratters in cruisers or BC's. He was not properly fit to fight a frig, even a T1 frig.
He let a small ship get in close assuming that his Hammers would take the frig down and they did not. Some Warrior II's would have saved him but he carried 4 Hammer II's and that took all his drone bay leaving him open for just this situation.
Arazu pilot made a stupid move and he did it in front of a pilot who was in a ship that filled the defensive hole the Arazu had.
Stupidity kills.

Everyone is stupid sometime. No negitive comment on the Arazu pilot.
One of the best stupid moments in Eve, although it was a drunk moment, was the guy who was gate camping and wacked his own hauling alt.

Did you read the original post? the OP tried to run, and then realizing that wasn't going to work fought instead... it had nothing to do with good knowledge. However props to the OP for a great kill, best lol I've had for ages. Want to get rich? it's easy, spend less than you earn. Okay, move along, this is my sig. |

"I decided I had no other chance than to fight, so I turned around and manual flight towards it trying to avoid railgun fire. I got right next to it and started to orbit at 500m"
So, the MWD fit Arazu failed to keep range from the AB fit Rifter. Additionally, he failed to just align and warp out when he had the Rifter pointed from 55 km out.
Point is, the Arazu pilot failed.

For a laugh, I looked up my own ganking+podding on their killboard.
Much to my surprise, it's there, unedited and for all to see. Though there isn't much to see. When you need a Heavy Interdictor to scram a Reaper and another HIC+BS to kill it, you're hunting flies with cannons.
Leeloo: Thanks for the story. Was a good read. |

WRONG, my arazu would NEVER lose to a single frigate. The trick is to use light drones rather than medium. The error was entirely with the pilot, both in fitting and in piloting. He could have probably disengaged at almost any time with the MWD.

You never should've won against an Arazu. With that said: congratulations on a damned good job!
Warrior II drones would've ripped you in seconds. Good thing you had that scram equipped. That's what kept him from running. With a disruptor he would've escaped as his MWD would work.
He also underestimated you. An Arazu should keep range, but he didn't see you as a threat at all. If he'd moved the opposite direction when you closed range on him he would even hit you with his 200mm rails because transversal would've been low enough. It's also epic fail not to bring some faction AM ammo. Spike M has 0.75% tracking if I recall correct, whereas faction AM retains dps while still tracking at 100%. The Arazu is not a good solo ship against fast crafts. The Arazu's strenght is to dampen it's enemys sensors, thus preventing a lock. You got within his damping range.
Good job on killing him. A kill is a kill. The next time you'll loose if you meet someone sensible :)

Oh? Did you come to that conclusion before or after having your ass handed to you by a Taranis?... Sorry, but having to gimp your already sh!tty dps for the sole purpose of being able to survive a frigate is exactly what makes the Arazu a piece of crap. There's no job the Arazu does that can't be done better, cheaper, and more survivably (made that word up) by another ship. Lose a few more, you'll figure it out.
