To me, the Guardian, stats wise, looks like a modded maller with no offensive ability, less slots and a bit more cap and defence. To be honest, unless they have some hidden secret ability we know nada about, who is going to pay stupid amounts (if the covert ops frigs are anything to go by they will be tier 1 bs prices) for that when they could use a maller to do the job and still have guns and isk. Though as with all unreleased or player untested ships, we shall have to wait and see.

One thing that you can't see on those screenies: these cruisers have +100 added to their scan resolution compared to the base cruiser's resolution, meaning they can lock almost as fast as frigattes, which is very interesting.
And since atm no class-specific bonuses are listed it can well be that when the bonuses are being added these ships will be much better shield/armor/cap/tracking boosters than anything out there atm.
What is really going to determine their usage will be the price at which they will be available - just like with all T2 ships.

[rant] Yes i know battlecruisers will be a separate class. You think i am blind and stupid ? But since CCP called the elite versions of the Tier 3 cruisers battlecruisers when they first concieved of them what would you like me to do? Choose a new name for them and then have you tell me that that is not what the elite tier 3 cruisers are called. Stop being so picky and just appreciate the fact that someone has gone to the trouble to find and post some information. [/rant]
Anyway, the Oneiros seems to need a bit of love already. It has an average cap recharge of 3.5 cap/sec. The other 3 are all around 4.1 cap/sec. All other non elite cruisers have matching average recharge rates of 2.8 cap/sec. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

omg the bb will be a point defence cruiser?
i wanted a better EW version of the bb, not a ranty point defence cruiser thingy
then thy should have made the bb the support cruiser (with lots of mediums and no weapons) it already fullfills this role in fleet combat
and the osprey as point defence cruiser Wanna fly with me?

my three cents..
I expect this sort of thing to come with the point-defence cruisers. There was some talk on a CSM a month or two back that they would be able to fit a gun that would auto-target missiles aimed at other ships.

A bonus to tracking disruptor effectiveness maybe?
(Assuming tracking disruptors actually work, of course!)
Actually, a BB that can shoot down missiles is quite scary - the PD version simply jams it's enemy, and then shoots down any FoFs that it fires.

Many thanks to the original poster, but there's not much to see here unless we know what the ships' bonuses are.

Is it just me who thinks reskinning ships and changing the stats on already excisting ships is abit "lazy"?
I for one, would much rather see a completely new ship.

Just what we need is more T2 Ships to suck up the alreay short Supply of T2 Comps.
Geez will CCP learn...either make T2 Comp. BPO's or make the new Ships T1....(i.e. Destroyers and Battle Cruisers)....

Edited by: MaiLina KaTar on 26/08/2004 14:21:08 I have a feeling that these ships will receive insane bonuses on cap/shield/armor-transfer mods (60-90% maybe). That would make them efficient enough to repair a battleship inspace within seconds when used in groups of two or three ships and they might even be able to maintain enough cap recharge to repair entire fleets in a relatively short time.
The resulting advantage for a fleet could indeed make up for the training time and loss of offensive capabilities. These cruisers would pretty much be like the engy-ships in darkspace. Very very very valuable ships to a decent fleet IMHO.
But this is all speculation of course
Without a proper bonus they will remain useless though.

These are THE only two cruisers I care about. I've been a Celestis hull fan for a LONG LONG time. Once these cruisers are released, I will get one (or both) and use them EXCLUSIVELY. I'll sell my BS's, inty's, inde's, and all mods related to them and use these ships only.
