Posted - 2009.04.11 04:06:00 - [1] I may be coming into several hundred million additional ISK soon and I have an unexplainable hankering to own one or both of these. My previous plan of owning all four Guristas ships has fallen through due to how I'll soon have a sec status too low to facilitate the kind of ISK acquisition needed to make a Rattlesnake worth owning. So anyway, the key is roaming small gang setups. Tackle is not necessary (although webs are obviously playing to a strength of these ships.) I have maxed fitting skills on everything so that's not an issue. I need your input on fitting schemes. I know both ships suck but I fly faction for the fun of it and these ships are quite unusual, which I like.

Especially the Ashimmuu, fitting it is a nightmare. I was warned before i bought it but i figured 'meh, i made the gila work'. I was sorely mistaken. If i remember correctly, i came to the realization i can either poorly tank it and fit some small nos/neuts w/ the mediums or fit the high slots properly and have virtually no tank. I never did splurge for the mods needed for a proper setup so i couldn't say. I believe i sold the ship in frustration. ---------- Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy motherf***er.

CCP really oughta go and fix it (add dronebay and bit more fittings at least, perhaps boosting its bonuses to neut and/or webs).

Rigging is pretty much mandatory aswell to help compensate for its many weaknesses. 2) it has no durability what-so-ever. It's shield, armour and hull Hitpoints are embarrassingly low for a ship its size and you don't have enough CPU or Grid to fit a decent sized buffer without gimping the hell out of the rest of your fit. Personally I'd say don't use it in PvP, it's far to fragile in its current state. It looks very nice though and you can get a pretty interesting PvE fit on it, but for PvP its basically a fancy looking very expensive coffin. I run the occasional mission in mine and that's quite a blast. (it's very unstable cap-wise and needs the NOS to keep its tank and guns running, which makes for some interesting missioning)

I EFT Warrior'd an ancillary current routed, multi-cap module'd permarunning MAR II setup with a combination of four different neut/nos mods but it could only equip a 120 DPS output and about 150 DPS tank. Very lame.

The ship also costs well over 100 million isk, if not more (not checked it for awhile). So what do you get out of the Ashimmu, really? You get the ability to NOS/Neut stuff. So what are your options? Hellooo... Curse? Pilgrim? Both of these are cruiser hulls, so they maintain same mobility as an Ashimmu. They also cost less than an Ashimmu, AND they can sport both a tank and dps (via drones). Why on earth would you throw away your isk on a worthless hull, when there are options in the same "genre" of ships that are a quantum leap ahead of the Ashimmu in performance? Save your isk, get a Curse, be happy. Or throw away your isk, spend hours in frustration on EFT or EVEHQ trying to fit it, then ragequit the game when it goes boom on in the first PvP encounter you have. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!"

Only decent ones now are the Sansha ones (not the frog som much).
