Eclipse - Apocalypse
Exile - Armageddon
Hammer of Light - Paladin
PvP ships:
Delirium - Retribution
Delusion - Malediction
Frenzy - Zealot
Illusion - Curse
Insanity - Harbinger
Lunacy - Abaddon
PvE names come from what ever sounded cool  , PvP names are all synonyms to insanity (exept the harbi of course, that one started the naming policy).
Couple of these I've lost (all of the battleships actually ), but if/when I get replacements for them I'll name them after the old ones.

i prefix all mine with the letters AU to indicate i am an Australian player, and follow it with the scientific name of an animal, plant or dinosour i think fits the ship somehow.
for example, i think the fenrir looks like a loaf of bread, so i called mine the AU Triticum. Triti****being the scientific name for the wheat family.

I named my ninja-salvage Thrasher "Bengalia," which isn't all that interesting untill you read the description on the Wikipedia page

T1 Destroyer hulls and lower I give 'pet' names.

OCV Kharbali (Punisher)
OCV Rakadash (Coercer)
T2 Frigs and T1 Cruisers may get a more 'nifty' sounding name.

for me it all depends, most of my base ship names are

i have an orca currently named "cat in the hat"
and 2 mining alts flying hulks named "thing 1" and "thing 2"
but that's because i was bored.
otherwise i'll name the orca either willy, or shamu.
in wormholes i'll drop a combat probe, look for another covops and take it's name. it tends to confuse the hell out of people.

I'm sure it's kind of ridiculous, but I name all my ships after the women that have been/still are a part of my life. For example:
My Kestrel:Issue Millennium Falcon - The Melissa (the ship w/which I've the most history for my fiancee) =P
My Caracal: The Jennica, after my exgirlfriend. When she was ****ed she packed a major punch
My Badger : The Hailey, after my best friend. A reliable ship for the world's most reliable friend
My Hulk: Sydnee, After a **** english girl I hooked up with. I had a lot to drink that night...
My stealth bomber: The Megan, after my ex-gf. Poor guys don't see either one coming =/
Overall I get a kick out of it, good times =P

because of khanid bloodline, I thought it would be cool for my ships to have mongolian names. found a site that has few mongolian names and combining them:
coercer - Burilgi (translation: destroyer)
malediction - Qara Chinua (translation: Black Wolf)
abaddaon - Altan Gal (translation: Golden Fire)
and so on
