And to the statement itself, the one stated is a shortened one from the one that is actually used as I don't wanted to reveal the table name.

But the full statement that is executed is:

SELECT TOP 1 FROM theTableName WHERE MESSAGE = 'TRIBAL' ORDER BY NEWID()

theTableName obvsiously replaced with the real name. NEWID() is MSSQL's variant for returning random entries, and the "TOP 1" is MSSQL's statement to return one single record ("LIMIT 1" on the end in MySQL iirc).

While I could leave out TOP 1 and simply read the first name coming up or displaying just a single entry with "TOP" doesn't really matter imo as if I wanted to do a selective drawing I could just skip the whole database query all over.

My apologies if my description of the database query was vauge, I blame the character limit of a post that made me shorten it a bit.

I'll take 500 tickets, I could always use a second Tribal Pest to guard the Opux.

I'd be more in favor of a dice roll or some other non-computerized random function. Computers can't generate true random numbers without special hardware.
