I don't think anyone ever has to worry about CA and SA forming a single permanent alliance. Getting together for a couple weeks and totally smashing someone, I see that as a possibility. If such a thing needed to happen.
The face of Eve changes every week.
As a side note, I've only been playing Eve for 8 months. I don't see why SA has this "good" persona. We have some principles, we don't go outside our space, or the disputed portions of Catch, and gank nuetral miners or anything. I'd assume CA doesn't do that either (I'm talking about policy here, not the occaisional CA member commiting a little piracy). Most of the core of SA lusts for fighting just like anyone in CA, we enjoy the fighting, we are a military alliance. I know CA has roots in "piracy", SA does not (as far as I understand the history). Is that the only thing that makes them "evil" and SA "good"?
Lastly, all this mutual respect and kind words lately is making me feel all squishy inside. It might be nausea.

it has more to do with the connections each alliance has to other player groups, and ofcorse the odd officialy declared pirate corps that are a part of CA (though some have stopped pirating after joining CA), CA accepts those corps into their alliance, SA does not

It's about morals. You either embrace public openness or you kill everyone in sight that's not friendly to your alliance. I would think along the lines of What is better for the game of EvE and everyones enjoyment. Most rats only think what makes them happy though, this is what seperates us from them.

nah like u see PA is allied with CA and it dnt means PA is killing everything it see ... we are still anti-pirate organisation ... but we just dnt shoot blue , and neutral ... only yellow .. or a suspicious looking neutral in war zone ...
i think its not about makin axis like power in eve :P
its like adopting ourselfs to upcoming events , posibilities and dangers :P
just my 2 cents :P

It would be cool to be on the same TS just for a cupple days just to see what SA are like. it's the people you play the game with day in and day out, but on the other hand what would happen to the south what would we do if we dident figth each other? lets face it this war is one of the main resons that a lot of us are still playing this game at all

I think most SA would have more fun if they declared on CFS and XETIC. Having talked to a LOT of senior SA guys, I know they get bored a lot.

Why build a relationship with something that is gonna be dead in 6 months anyway.
There is NO way in hell CA will survive Shiva if player owned structures means a damn.
1. CA wont be able to build anything that can stand in space. For how long do you think their members will accept that? There is ZERO chance they will accept being barred from 1 of the key elements in Shiva.
2. Ofcourse SA will be able to build pos. SA has lots of friends.

CA not survive? Why, because XIF builds a refinery in a system with ark in it, so they can mine even faster?
And why wouldn't CA be able to build POS's? Because of some flawed argument that it would be insta-destroyed by enemies? Let that be as it may, but thinking that the same doesn't apply to SA/FA/XIF POS's is just ignorant? Dont think for a second that CA wont run rampage in enemy space and blow **** up. We have been doing it for the last 14 months.

Yes it would be amazing, Yes we would be the largest PVP force ingame. yes we would be unstopable. Yes we would be richer than i dont know what.
HOWEVER, it will not work. Certain people on both sides of the fence are so adamantly opposed to the idea with little or no real reasoning behind it. Some would call it lack of vision, or whatever.
Some say they oppose the idea because then they will have less to shoot at. and thats pilots on both sides saying that, both sides love to fight after all. Both sides though are really just fighting for the sake of it, no real reason behind it.
Lastly, but not least, after last time this was discussed on these forums and then on the CA forums, i seem to recall an official statement from the FA/CFS/SA about how they are going to crush the CA and will never stop fighting us etc. complete with images of posts from the CA forums.
My own personal stance? SA are cuddled up with FA, despite the fact that FA have no real respect for SA and are only allied with them because it suits them.
Anyone cuddled up with that back stabbing, caniving, vote rigging, spin doctoring, subjucators of CFS peoples the Fountain Alliance deserves all they get. A torpedo up the rectum from CA and a knife in the back from FA when it suits them.
