Goons killed BoB. Remaining Members of BoB formed Kenny Kenny tried to change his name to BoB, but failed Which is good really Cos now Goons can Kill Kenny
Now sprinkle in some ship losses, lots of forum whining, a smattering of OMFG Eve is dying and you have the general recipe for the pie that was baked.
Other than that nothing changed

Here's BoB's history. http://eve-history.net/wiki/index.php/Band_of_Brothers
Not too much different. They were the big dogs, and nobody went near their territory. The memorable moment for be was when they broke up the NAP fest that was eve politics by declaring the "pendulum war".
Anyway, a mod should move this to CAOD.

Once long ago a chap named Dirk Magnum who didn't have a lot of ISK in their wallet joined a BoB corp. He did not obey any of the rules and was generall a non-participant in the totally lame ops that were going on. He could not afford more than one fleet-fit battleship and this was but one of his problems. In the end he decided to abandon BoB because he was providing nothing of value to them.
Before leaving he said that he wasn't going to wish BoB luck in Delve because they weren't going to need it and the Goons would still be dashing themselves against the proverbial rocks at "this time next year".
Well, that prediction came true. The Goons were indeed unable to capture BoB space at that particular time next year (2009.) But what our hero did not count on was a guy named something or other, who did a thing because he was disillusioned or something I guess (I dunno I'm drunk.)
Point being that BoB did one thing and I did another. What thread is this. I've got your number right here OP. Oh yeah you heard m

I wouldn't say goons won the war, its more like duck taping someones legs together when they sleep and then kicking them. Not very honourable, but very effective. However with POS mechanics as they are, it was probably only way to win.

BOB the Abridged Version:
Chapter 1
Bob was a big boy, he sat on half the map for a number of years. But then Goonswarm came along and stuck a needle in Bob's neck and Bob almost died right there in the sandbox.
Luckily someone found Bob and took him to a hospital, he escaped this tragic event with a bit of minor brain damage, so now we don't call him Bob anymore. Instead we call him Kenzoku.
The end.

The Book of BoB Chapter 1: BOB weren't pirates. Chapter 2: BOB didn't go up north waiting for the Jove region to be opened. Chapter 3: BOB didn't go down to valuable Delve. Chapter 3.5: Bob didn't get free standings with Blood Raiders. Chapter 4: Delve didn't get valuable with the introduction of a Blood Raiders constellation. Chapter 5: BOB didn't have a dev take its fleet commander position for capital ships. Chapter 6: BOB didn't POS bowl with supercapitals while it wasn't consider an exploit. Chapter 7: BOB didn't get CCP to declare POS Bowling an exploit the very day anti-BOB forces got supercapitals and did it themselves. Chapter 8: BOB didn't expand their Sov to more than 10 regions. Chapter 9: BOB didn't lose all but one region. Chapter 10: BOB didn't use titans as pretty much the only defense of Delve. Chapter 11: After anti-BOB forces got tired of trying to fight multiple invulnerable titans on jammers, BOB didn't try to expand their empire Chapter 12: BOB got its directorate banned just like RA and Daisho. Chapter 13: BOB didn't benefit from lag in all fleet fights. Chapter 14: BOB didn't lose hilariously after the introduction of Stackless IO. Chapter 15: BOB's MAX Campaign was a huge success with no titan losses. Chapter 16: BOB didn't retreat to the South to fight Goons again. They were the most valuable anti-Goon force in the conflict removing many Goon Sov 4s. Chapter 17: There were no audible gasps on BOB voice comms in the 0-W capital fight as Goons were slaughtered at a rate of 5:1. Chapter 18: A BOB director didn't try to infiltrate Goons, realized he liked Goons better, get caught as a spy, announce he was in the directorate of Tinfoil in an attempt to stay in Goons. Mittani didn't realize that said director had the highest level of authority for BOB so the alliance wasn't disbanded.
The Book of Corps. I mean the Book of KenZoKu. I mean the Book of Beaver, erm KenZoKu. Chapter 1: Goonswarm didn't declare war on all BOB corporations to prevent them from forming a new alliance. Chapter 2: Ex-BOB corps didn't join an alt corp that was unable to anchor CSAAs in Band of Brother space and run capital jobs. Chapter 3: Sir Molle didn't order all of Kenny to move all their assets to a single NPC station in Delve. Chapter 4: Kenny didn't get camped into said station for a whole month as Goons destroyed over 400 towers, CSAAs, and supercapital jobs in production. Chapter 5: Goons never got Sov in Delve. Chapter 6: Kenny didn't NAP vast numbers of alliances, because they hate NAPfests. They never have a need to pull 1400 people into a system because they dont need such large numbers to keep Delve. Chapter 7: Because Goons never got Sov in Delve, they didn't recently get Sov 4 in a constelation. Chapter 8: Kenny currently isn't trying its hardest to get sov in 49-'s constelation as Goons and company fail to clear Period Basis.

Rogue director disbanded the alliance overnight.
Same director let goons in on the plan
Goons snatched up the BoB name
Goons then rode behind as the NC and PL invaded the now sov 1 territory.
If you ever watched "A Christmas Story" and remember the two bullies, Goons are the little kid hiding behind the bigger one, but with the loudest mouth.

Summary version :
BoB was born as an Elite PvP allaince (DICE, RKK, Evolution being 3 of the 5 founders)
BoB became the major PvP powerbase, feared through EvE, renting the ripe space of delve to small alliances.
BoB went emo on a band of upstart renters (goons), promised to shoot them out of game.
Goons start to swell number due to SA forums.
Goons get standings with the russians (-A-, RA as was) and other sovereign alliances (Frege, RK, Smash, Atlas etc), start to meta game better than Bob, leading to the T20 affair being broken.
Major 0.0 alliances start to get seriously p!ssed at BoBs antics, and begin backing goons.
BoB start to loose influence in eve and become more and more irrelavent, culminating in the failed campaign against the NC. Goons manage to turn a Bob director and close alliance.
Former Bob corps run to alt alliance called Kenzoku (kenny) to minimze damage and regain sov in delve ASAP.
Delve gold rush starts, culminating in BoB (now Kenny) being tattaked and camped at all points.
Goons take over previously impervious BoB strongholds of Delve and querious.
Now Goons are shooting Kenny out of the game.
did I miss anything?

Actually, they were born well before the official alliance system. And the original Founding corps were Evolution, Reikoku(sp?), Arcane Technologies(ATUK), Black Nova, and M0o. And they weren't what I'd call Elite, but they were indeed damn good. After all the Phoenix alliance in it's prime could stand against them man to man.

Think it's more they became the only major stable PVP alliance for a long time, during 06 a lot of alliance decided to go nuts whiping each other out..

BoB was the microsoft of eve, big, scary, domineering, and seemed to get favored treatment by some ccp insiders. BoB was the bane of all hate in eve.
Just like in college when the roommates all hate on that one roomie and it keeps the order in the apartment more or less. Or an entity, corporation, person or nation gets too influential, powerful everyone outside and some within hate on that reality or perceived influence or power, and creates a harmony between other forces that normally would be hating on each other.
So to this extends from real life to eve, basic human nature at it's finest.
Then one night some drunken frat boys decide hey lets create a corp, take anyone in at all, especially those that love flying t1 crusiers and getting blown up or blowing things up and do not care either way, and the more they think of eve as "skrew it it is just a game" even better. so lets drink more beer and create a corp and call it goons. and as it was written so shall it be done.
goons were also hated, but yet the hate for BoB stayed stronger. BoB was after all a juggernaut, goons were a bunch of devil may care pranksters with loads of booze to fuel their playing habits.
so goons grew, being not so picky about membership, and grew some more and set their sights on BoB. and hey why not goons were hated, BoB was hated far more and by more people. goons would swell their numbers so much and so fast marching along on their booze filled holy crusade against the mighty and terrible wizzard of BoB.
At this point goons started flying real ships other than t1 crusiers. And the fighting between BoB and goons was starting to get really interesting.
But at this point i took a break from the game so i missed all the biblical stuff that happend after.
