War Machine	Posted - 2004.08.31 13:46:00 - [11] I had similar problem, I would come to the screen "downloading patch" then just wait there for ages. I look in the knowledgebase and managed to manually download the patch from here: http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp be sure to download the correct version. good luck

The fix is to download and re-install THE WHOLE OF EVE, re-downloading the patch WILL NOT fix this error, its a corruption error on your HDD. Something at some point has changed the file on your HDD and until the patcher see's the correct version it will not proceed. Simple really.

Master John2	Posted - 2004.08.31 20:50:00 - [19] Well hear this, i have now downloaded 4-6 copys of the "New Virsion" full, and they are all saying the same crap, this fill is corrupt, i tryed the /NCRC Command line switch amd i got the same respance half way through installing, its not a sysytem Error cos i can install other thing, so i can only guess that CCP has released a bad copy of the game, and a patch that only works for "some users" if there is a fix i could like it or to be giving my money back, cos this is stupid

Mamer	Posted - 2004.08.31 23:09:00 - [21] i finally got it to downlaod once, then click to continue, the patch box shows up for a split second, then EVE just closes out. Now i get patch downloaded, click continue, and still just crashes. :( Not Happy.

It seems to try and download from 2 sources and they are not quite identical. This leads to either it having a spasum or corrupting the file. If you dont use a download manager do the usual diags (full virus check, mem test etc) or ask a freind to download it & check the file (By running it and cancelling the install at the first page, it does an installer test at the beginning). If the file is ok when burnt to CD by your friend but fails on your PC, there is something intercepting the file before it is decoded.

Stellar Inc	Posted - 2004.09.01 17:35:00 - [29] I always got this error before. I found that if I unpluged my router and pluged directly into my cable modem to do the patch, and I never had the problem again.
