Even with the official FanFest in Iceland I'd like to see a couple of other fan events. Maybe CCP could hold a smaller less formal FanFest for both the US and EU? So you wouldn't have to bring all the fancy equipment just part of it. You could coincide the US one with E3 and the EU one with the EU version of E3 (I assume there is one).
Given a large population of players live in US and EU it would give more people a chance to attend at a reasonable cost.

Originally by: kieron Logistically, holding the FanFest in Iceland makes sense. There's a lot of gear that would have to be transported to a different country, in addition to flying out all the staff. It is more cost effective to the company to hold it in the home town. This also gives all the fans that are interested a chance to see where we keep the testers chained to their systems and the infamous fishtank!
Also, with the Fest being held at the same time as the Airwaves Festival, the marketing guys were able to get a price reduction for the FanFest.
Maybe a future FanFest will be under a different set of circumstances. Personally, I'd love to see the next one held in the Caribbean!
have they cleaned the fishtank yet? last time I was there getting close to a year now it was so murky that you would think it was used as a portapotty

For all the people here in the states that would want to have the fanfest here or a second one here.
How about we have it in my home town of Las Vegas Nevada.
The flights to here are very cheap all around the US. You can get direct non-stop gamblers flights from almost any major city to here.
Its also a little more of a party town than anywhere in iceland.
If CCP got together with a good travel agent the prices go down even further with group discounts. We also have the most hotel room in one city in the whole world. A good travel agent could also get great rooms at some of the mega resorts for very cheap group rates.
As far as convention space goes, we also have close to the most in any one city in the us also. So that would save CCP a lot of money too.
Just an idea that wouldn't cost much for the players in the US. |

CCP should just relocate to a giant blimp. That way they could visit every players house in turn and still keep working.
Besides, who wouldn't want a giant dominix floating over their house with TomB shooting nerf arrows out the bottom? Really, are there any downsides?

to all you whiny euro people , try sparing a thought for us aussies who miss out on 99% of MMO fan fests simply becuase we have to fly half way round the world to get to them
hrmm perhaps if I use the next 6 months rent to get there ...... hrmm no then I'd be homeless .
hehehe so when you guys are having hella fun in iceland just spare us a thought, bad enough we already get downtime during our prime time 9pm-10pm.
Somebody needs a hug!
hehehe cheers miso
But having the downtime in your prime time you have all the luxury of playing a fresh (bugged) patch before anyone else
Not to mention the times (rare but do happen) that your in on Friday night, you think ... hmmm ... beeeeeeer .... you go to the fridge only to find your flat mates drunk it all! Damn! Oh Kewl! DT is coming up and the bars/off-licenses are open, see ya in an hour!

Total cost for me acends to 1000 Euros.
For that price i would prefer a tropical island for 9 days.
Fedo-Hunt its only 4 days so it will be a north europe event.
All blondy Eve players are sure to be there Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

Quote: And Iceland is insanely expensive.
But certainly insanely interesting for sure A country where people can fullfill their creative dreams like CCP are doing right here must be interesting!
I'd love to go but I just don't have the time
