You KNEW I was gonna come up from the depths for this one. So at least hear me out before locking this bad boy.
In defense of Zere-overkill he has never attempted to impersonate me that I am aware of HOWEVER it should be noted often times his victims contact ME with their vengeful words and set their Corporation standings to HDY to reflect this.
Setting Corporation standings to HDY in the negatives is a direct result of the O and "0" looking exactly the same in game. Some people do not bother looking, they just assume it is me that has attacked them.
Psyco Groupie: Wrote me an email congratulating me for a decent attack and kill of his ship. He thought I was m0o OVERKILL and not who I really am. His standings were immeditaely set to -10 for myself and HDY until this was sorted out.
Ghost Spirit: This individual wanted me to give him an introduction into m0o "with a view to joining". Then proceeded to tell me his then current skillpoints, his ships and why he felt he should get that introduction.
This had happened several times previous to these two emails but these are the only two that I've currently saved and I will continue to save more to help illustrate my point.
Food for thought and a medium for me to rant. You may now begin the flames.

Its not a blindingly obvious difference between O and 0 but making sure you've got the right guy by checking your kill mail would deffinatly save everyone this grief...
In views of the MK I thread that was locked, that is not the same thing as a geniuine mistake as you are pointing out here.
EDIT: Ok so the 0 and O look completly different on the forums now I'm wondering what they look like in game... am I being to generous to the mass of idots?

Well I dont know if your trying to blame me for anything or not. If you are, I have never tried to act as though I was you or anything so please STFU. I also know that the difference has probably played in your favor as i know a couple times people sent me millions and they ended up going to you instead of me.

Whoever of you two made your character first can petition the other and have his name changed by the GMs.

Well actually the general EVE community doesn't really have any say in this because it's a dispute between you two. Feel free to petition and let the GM's make a decision, one way or another.

Oh! Oh!  I've got a great idea! Let's have a forum topic dedicated to one character for the ingame font. After ISD get sick of seeing this topic over and over and they start locking it, send a memo to the ISD Leads about the problems players encounter because of it. And request they inform their subordinates. A month later, let the GMs know what ISD have been telling the playerbase. Yet another month later, create a support article detailing the difference between 0 and O and how to avoid confusion. All the while the players have this discussion once per month.
... or the devs could change the font in the next patch.  How about a little slash through the zero, I hear that works well.
